Ventura near top of online poll to be Ron Paul’s 2012 running mate

It seems Jesse Ventura’s new conspiracy TV show might be buying him some credibility with the schizophrenic Ron Paul crowd. In an online poll at RonPaul.com asking who should serve as Paul’s 2012 running mate, Ventura is currently in third place with 23 percent of the vote.

Paul supporters have delved pretty deeply into United Nations, Federal Reserve and other boringly nerdy economic conspiracies, but Ventura could help focus Paulites on a different strain of conspiracies: 9/11 trutherism, secret societies and, yes, a real-life Manchurian Candidate (mind control that turns “ordinary citizens into programmed assassins,” according to the show’s website).

In the online poll, which has more than 600 votes despite being posted only last night, Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann drew only five percent of the vote, despite her weekly studies with Dr. Paul.

Ventura does trail Peter Schiff and Andrew Napolitano in the poll.  But in a similar April poll, Ventura came in second. Who knows? There could be some shadowy forces that are rightfully afraid of Ventura topping out an online poll? Just saying.

Lame! Sorry Jon, not sure if you just got out of journalism school or what, but the article is a poor attempt at smearing Ron Paul and his supporters. What’s the motivation for writing a stupid article, other then filling up space that could have been used for better articles?

“schizophrenic Ron Paul crowd”, “…boringly nerdy economic conspiracies” such as the federal reserve…lol. just more soundbite, ear tickling slander focused writing with no substance which has become so typical and requires such intellectual laziness to put together.

as for economics etc., ron paul had this to say in 2001. seems he was basically spot on. http://mises.org/daily/2894

about “9/11 trutherism” i don’t know. they have some nuts out there. but it’s hard to argue with this guy http://www.archive.org/details/mcmurtry.

come on folk. stop being so lazy. give us some verifiable thought substance at least.

It is inevitable that those who are against the populace will smash Paul and Ventura. It is comical that one would target 80 million citizens’ interests as being ‘boringly nerdy’. Wow great diction. Truthism is no myth anymore. Personally, I have seen nothing to disprove Israeli conduct in 9/11. College students and elderly alike have discovered the dual citizens running this show since the attack on the U.S.S. Liberty. There is nothing that can stop the Paul/ Ventura or Paul/ Schiff combination. They are the only ones who can debate without circumventing inquiry or utilizing slanderous / libelous means. Welcome to America. Finally after 100 years…

Yes. A highly omniscient economist in Peter Schiff and a highly regarded legal scholar in Judge Napolitano are those crazy Paulites preferred choices according to this poll.

That doesn’t suit your politics so you choose to locate their third choice, Harvard Professor Jesse Ventura. Yes, he was a wrestler (which means he is dumb according to some) and yes he is on a conspiracy show (which makes him nutty).

Jon Collins, you are a genius (that means you are very smart). Thanks for your article.

seems like Jon Collins doesn’t have much use for Ron Paul his supporters or his principles. principles such as rule of law (adherence to the Constitution) individual freedom and a sound and functioning economy (fiscal and monetary and personal responsibility – and the return of decent American jobs). oh yes – as well as an uncompromising commitment to national sovereignty and a foreign policy promoting America’s legitimate and peaceful interests first – without any undue influence from any “entangling alliances”. just who or what does Jon Collins stand FOR? i wonder.

Hmmm… American independent news network…. Yeah, right. Sounds just like another far left liberal smear to me. Good job talking smack about Dr. Paul’s millions of supporters (such as myself). I’m sure that I could write a 4+ paragraph article with my ideas on what I think of you as well, Jon. It’s a shame that you actually got paid for this one. This just proves that anyone can make money.

Hey Jon,

Money is a boring subject to people who don’t understand Monetary policy(like yourself). Ron Paul people are highly educated on the subject and understand what door knobs(like yourself) can’t understand! Just do what ALL politically correct “Journalist”? do when they they are LAZY they just turn into PARROTS!

Aaron-It’s not the fact that I learned well as you suggested,it’s the fact that I have NO TOLERANCE for racism or racists.I happen to live across the street from two of them that told me in no uncertain terms that they hate n*****s.If I think there is even a hint of racism involving a politician,I will be the first one to call them on it!!!THANK YOU!

Ventura and Paul were democratically appointed their positions by the people were they not? So basically, you insult not only these two men, but democracy itself. Personally, I would rather associate with schizophrenics than the complacent, mindless, socialist idiots such as yourself Jon.
“boringly nerdy economic conspiracies,” really? How’s your pension doing Jon? You might want to look into that. How about the value of your home, How is that? You don’t care that your taxes have bailed out huge banks and corporations? You’re not disturbed by the federal reserve, being a part of the Central Bank funding BOTH sides of war? This is boring to you? You’re a total ass.

awwww…you can’t take constructive criticism huh Jon. Did my wittle bitty comment hurt your truth bone? What’s the matter? You don’t have anyone defending your position? Where are all the mindless liberal rants you hoped for?

The only thing you did right in this article is use Ron Paul’s name so Google picks it up to those who follow Dr. Paul. Maybe your publisher will love that you got all these views but next time I see your name I won’t bother to read the article. I feel sorry for you Jon. At least do a little research before you write off the top of your head. Grade F- It was almost like you wrote this piece with 15 minutes to get it in after a bad handover night.

Jon, I look forward to future posts where you actually refute, with evidence, any of the people or opinions you mocked in this article.

Don’t you get it? People are waking up. The establishment is going down. Better jump off the sinking ship like the rat you are.

“schizo Paul crowed,” come on now, anyone who reads this article who is not familiar with Ron Paul’s philosophies and track record may associate his supporters as crazy based on your assertion. This is not in good character, and I would hope that your mother would have been the type of woman who would have raised a young man to be upright in the face of society. She let us down. She should have known, that no men of good moral standing nor character, no men of strength and good judgement slander innocent people. Maybe this is what your father was guilty of raising you to believe?

Ron Paul is still too much of a republican for Jesse to be a running mate to hime considering Jesse is for the abolishment of all political parties.

Jon Collins is a so uninformed. Ron Paul is a good man and a true patriot that has the answers that will restore our country to it’s rightful place as the worlds leading example for freedom, liberty and justice for all. This Jon Collins person is only capable of junior high level insults at best, nothing that even resembles mature, respectful and honest journalism. What a sorry and pitiful example for a human being Collins is.
