Bachmann and Angle accuse Dems of money-laundering on Fox

The Washington Post’s Greg Sargent blogged today about the “Bachmann-ization of GOP candidates: The constant elevation of the rhetorical stakes to the point where good faith disagreement is no longer possible or even desirable.” He cites an example similar to the one I pointed out earlier today, where Rep. Michele Bachmann charged that the state aid bill signed into law yesterday is merely a way to funnel money to public employee unions, who in turn “skim” funds from union dues to give to Democratic campaigns, a claim she fails to buttress with facts. Sargent looks at an earlier video, also on Fox, where she said “Taxpayer money will essentially be laundered… and spent to reelect those same Democrats this fall.”

Bachmann’s influence in the party — and the tea party’s apparent integration into the GOP through a Bachmann-led caucus — means a recurring strategy, says Sargent: “Criticism of everything Dems do has to be tinged with allegations of vaguely criminal intent.

The Bachmannesque Sharron Angle, who’s challenging Sen. Harry Reid in Nevada, parrots the same money-laundering talk, likewise sans evidence of wrongdoing, claiming that the jobs emergency prompting the state aid bill — which is bringing $430 million to Minnesota for teachers and Medicaid patients — exists “only in Harry Reid’s mind.”

“The Bachmannesque Sharron Angle, who’s challenging Sen. Harry Reid in Nebraska,”

It’s Nevada, not Nebraska……..

The comments that the liberals leave regarding Conservatives who actually speak the truth is a statement on how much they are educated on the issues. Wake up liberals from you Talking Point Slumber and see what this current administration is doing to our country – no jobs, over taxed, and no recovery in sight – much to the Glee of the Obama administration. Look at the facts and see what is happening to our future

The truth, Michele? “You can’t handle the truth!” Instead, you make up the craziest lies to reinforce and perpetuate your prejudices.

The state budget crisis is only in Reid’s mind, Sharron? No wonder you run away from the press, they might challenge your perception of reality. Killing jobs does NOT reduce unemployment. Laying off teachers does NOT invest in the future. Laying off Police does NOT make the streets safer. Cutting health care funding does NOT improve it’s delivery. Cutting funding for court clerks and public defenders does NOT advance justice – especially if you want to flood the courts with high-priority trespassing cases and give anyone standing to sue the state.

You two can go wave your imported cheap-but-profitable “American” flags somewhere else. The United States would be better off without your cult conservatism.

I like that definition of “Bachmann-ization” because it’s a succinct way of explaining what she and extreme conservatives are doing. It needs to be seen for what it is, not one crazy person or an occasional one-off by a conservative, but a strategy to make public discourse impossible rather than engaging in it.

MK speaking of “waking up”—-it sounds like you were asleep at the wheel from 2000-08 when two wars were started on credit and the Neo-Cons funneled your hard earned money to government contractors (Haliburton and the like)in these credit card backed wars. Take a humble second and think of what you would have done if you were Obama and were saddled with all of this financial meltdown mess created by your predecessors.
RE: Bachmann & Tea Party Mess
Take a second to look into Bachmann’s financial history—how she speaks out of one side of her mouth about taxes, etc., while extending her hand to take government subsidies for her family farm and counseling center, etc.

MK has a point, and we can all profit by following his lead.

After all, we are currently paying taxes that are so low they are similar to those seen during the Truman administration. A fact we can all agree on.

Regulations were enacted during the 1930′s to ensure the Great Depression would not recur. These safety mechanisms were abolished, and the recurrence was swift. A simple cause and effect we have recently lived through.

Jobs are slowly recovering, as is the general economy. Not a source of glee, but a welcome respite from the free-fall we remember.

“Look at the facts and see what is happening to our future.” MK has a point, and we can all profit by following his lead.
