As the threat of Hurricane Gustav recedes, Republican National Convention organizers are moving toward resuming a normal schedule. First Lady Laura Bush and Cindy McCain have been placed back on today’s heavily redacted schedule of speakers, but are expected to largely avoid political partisanship and focus instead on hurricane relief efforts.

President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have not been returned to the schedule. Any decisions regarding alterations to Tuesday’s schedule will likely come that morning.
