Downtown St. Paul quiets down

The streets of downtown St. Paul have quieted considerably in the last few hours. I just walked from 411 Main St., where we’re holed up with the kind folks at the Uptake, over to the Wabasha Bridge and back. There are still cops patrolling nearly every corner, but the protesters seems to have largely dispersed. As I was crossing the bridge, a group of police officers stopped a couple of white males that looked to be in their twenties. “You look like somebody we’re looking for,” an officer told one of the guys, wearing a cowboy hat and mirror shades. “Could you take your sunglasses off?” The man complied and was soon on his way. But clearly the cops are looking to pick up some of the people responsible for the day’s more nefarious acts.
