As of 8 p.m. this evening, 163 protesters had been processed through the Ramsey County Jail. This includes 73 felony arrests, 42 gross misdemeanors and 48 misdemeanors, according to the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office. Arraignments will be held beginning at 8 a.m. tomorrow. Police estimate the crowd at today’s protest rally was between 8,000 and 10,000. If accurate, that’s far short of the 50,000 anticipated by parade organizers.
Coldsnap Legal Collective, which has been diligently monitoring police activities throughout the day, reports different arrest figures. They’re reporting that 256 people have been arrested, with 119 felonies, 48 gross misdemeanors and 89 misdemeanors.

Correction: the first hearing for RNC arrestees will be 9 am at the Law Enforcement Center at Lafayette & Grove. Also, there is a 10:30 hearing at the main courthouse for seized items.
Some of the arrestees held on probable cause holds have been told that they won't be able to see a judge until Wednesday at 4, though.

he more authoritarian their tactics, the more people they drive to the “liberty” parties. I hate to quote a movie like Star Wars but here goes. “People are like grains of sand- the tighter you squeeze, the more that slip between your fingers.”
