It is a bit of hilarity that one would characterize Lew Rockwell's speaking as “thundering.” He has to be one of the most mild-mannered speakers I've heard. I watched Lew's speech before reading this, and I recall having thought he was pretty soft spoken. Nice try… then again, not really.

The size of the crowd is irrelevant to the moral fact that taxes are bad and guns are good and Sean Hannity is a liar and a cheat. I heard Rockwell's address. He didn't “thunder” at all. He spoke calmly throughout. Perhaps you meant that his message was of thunderous import. Quite so.

I was there when Dr. Paul gave his speech. I figured it would be the most attended portion of the event. I noted carefully the full vs. empty seats. The Target center seats were about 2/3 full and the floor was full. I also know that probably several hundred people had left by 7:30 pm due to other committments.

…..And not one mention of the Constitution at the RNC and how the Republicans are going to strictly obey it. Yet, the RNC and DNC each wasted 16.8 million dollars of taxpayers money to run their shows and The Rally for the Republic was paid for privately and voluntarily.

As another point: consider the protests that were going on around the RNC and all of the police that were required for protection. Yet, there were no protests around the Rally for the Republic, there were no riots and no police baracades, no one got hurt. It was a rally of peace.

I am a Ron Paul supporter. My only complaint about his speech is that it meandered a little…BUT it was full of policy positions, which is great
