Rep. James Oberstar released his first television ad of the 2010 campaign cycle over the weekend. It features endorsements from four northern Minnesota mayors: Marlys Palmer of Cambridge, Don Ness of Duluth, Marlene Pospeck of Hoyt Lakes and Wayne Wolden of Wadena. Oberstar is running for his 19th term in the U.S. House and is expected to retain his seat against a challenge from Republican Chip Cravaack.
“Mayors are on the front lines when it comes to dealing with the challenges facing our country,” said Oberstar said in a statement. “They see how policies impact people in their daily lives. They have to figure out how to ensure that the citizens in their communities have access to vital services and they have to do it on a tight budget. I am honored to have the support of these community leaders from across the 8th District.”
