Koering to run as write-in candidate

Paul Koering, Minnesota’s only elected gay Republican, may become Minnesota’s only elected gay independent. Koering told the St. Cloud Times over the weekend that he will run a write-in campaign for the state Senate seat he now holds. Koering lost to Paul Gazelka in the Republican primary after the National Organization for Marriage and the Minnesota Family Council made hay of Koering’s dinner date with a porn actor over the summer. Koering says an overwhelming response from voters in the district encouraged him to run.

“Wherever I went, people were telling me they were going to write my name in,” he told the St. Cloud Times. He said there was an “overwhelming show of support from many friends and acquaintances.”

Following his primary defeat, Koering had endorsed DFL candidate Taylor Stevenson. He told the Times that if he wins he may caucus with the DFL. Koering filed his write-in campaign with the Secretary of State’s office last week.

These “moderates” never did appreciate the idea of democracy did they? You know, where the people vote to decide who they want? Oh wait … he endorsed the democrat didn’t he. I guess he’s not a “moderate” after all.

Good luck Paul. It is so sad that you feel the need to be spiteful, rather than accept defeat and hold your head high knowing that you did the best you could. Endorsing the opposition party was bad enough. Now this. I hope you obtain the closure/gratification that you need.

Paul,

Is it sinking in yet? What we’ve been telling you for years? Log Cabin Republicans? Do blacks try to join the Klan? Do Jews try to join the neo Nazis? What the hell were you thinking?

Rejection by the far right may be considered a badge of honor by the mainstream voter. At least they will have a choice, which is what democracy is all about.

Just maybe he will take enough votes from the repub madmen that the dems will win.

God Bless you Mr. Koering

n Vtrw it wasn’t completely clear that he is elected now, but he is not a senator.

Looking at the various gay supportive and gays in the primatires, its amazing that 80%+ won their elections.

the country is changing.

And re the NOM group. Well, they on the average on theri summer for marriage tour got 20 to 100 attendees to listen to their lies and filth, so carefully couched as supporting conventional families while demonizing gay people.

And where ever the gays decided to mount a counter demonstration (they didn’t want to do a lot, because it would become much more newsworthy for hte Mehlmanites of the NOM), NOM was outnumbered 3 – 10 to 1

The country is on the verge of granting gay people respect as part of Gods infinite creation. Yes, Marriage remains a stumbling block until our demographics change.

but in the end, our children will be saying – why did we have slavery, the KKK, segregation, women treated as second class citizen, women not allowed to vote, and inter-racial marriage once illegal in 41 states

And the answer will be conservative Christianity.

Evil propagated in the name of Jesus and God.

Got to make one wonder why we are fighting wars against religious zealots half a world away, while we have more then our own share.

Stan Missed one item.

NOMs tour was such a disaster that they posted on their website a photo of a large crowd, with them in the front.

Turns out the photo was of the international FISA soccer tournament in Europe. With the NOM critters photoshopped onto it.

Just another indication that their beliefs include “if you tell a lie often enough and outrageous enough it will be seen as the truth.

Sorry, NOMITEs and Mehlmanites Gotcha. Your godhead committed suicide on May 3 1945 in Berlin. 3 days after his Fuhrer. Too bad he hadn’t been aborted. Would have saved 55 million lives.

Koering is the worst kind of Gay person..a self-loather. Basically equal to Jews for Hitler, or a Black person working behind the scenes for the KKK….now the Religious Right aka American Taliban/Catholic Church is Trying to Interject thier Bigotry, Hatred, and Discrimination into MN.SECULAR LAW….Marriage has NOTHING to do with the Church, or some made-up God. You go to a Justice for the Peace to marry (City Hall), or a Gay Affirming Church (there ARE many)..NO church ever was/is/or ever gonna be forced to marry anyone they don’t want too….the Catholic Church LIES / and demonizes Gay people..to Hide thier Own Filthy Pedophiles as they have for decades!!!! They’ve DESTROYED & RUINED the Lives of 1000′s of children, and COVERED IT UP..perpetuating it decade after decade. Now they Try to Use thier Hollier then thou additude / and Interfere into MN.CIVIL LAW. WAKE UP SHEEPLE!

I think it is ridiculous that Koering is acting like a child. He lost, but his personality is not such that he can accept this. Always has been this way. Arrogant and ignorant. Try to get what he wants at whatever cost.
At this point, watching him in public brings to light the obvious. He wants to take votes away from his opponent at all costs. He has been rubbing elbows with the DFL Stevenson and the Constitution Party’s Park at every turn. Stevenson is to naive to realize that most DFL’ers are planning to go for Koering because he has switched sides. Park, well he makes no sense. Says he is ultra-conservative, but backs Koering and buddies with Stevenson? Says he is a Christian who prays and is listening to the Lord, but slanders and tries to take down another Christian while stroking the ego of non-believers. Where in the Bible does it say that this behaviour is acceptable? I’ve been hearing rumors that the “3 Musketeers” are planning revenge and plan to take down the GOP candidate. Sounds like jr. high tactics, not Senate. Don’t fall for it.
Gazelka is the only one walking with integrity. He had no part in the mud-slinging before the Primary, and he will continue on the high road because that’s just who he is. When the dust settles, I trust the Lord will bring him to the top of this ridiculous monkey pile.
Wake up people.
Here’s your choice in Senate Candidates:
Stevenson- a kid who has no idea how the world works except by hearing about it in college. Never held a real job and never owned a house. Pro-choice and pro-taxes.
Park- a rich guy that can’t make up his mind. Ultra-conservative man of God, or back-stabbing liberal supporter.
Koering- Gay man who is finally able to run for office and be himself. Watch out, he’s going to vote how he “really wants to” now. Even his own web-site has his “2010 Issues” page saying “Coming soon”. Really? He can’t even tell us where he stands on the issues because he doesn’t want to tell. He even said he’ll “let us know later” as to which party he is going to be affiliated with. Since when is that acceptable?
Gazelka- pro-life, pro-family, pro-2nd Am. Rights, fiscally conservative and running a clean campaign. And, those are just the few things that are most important to me. Check their web-sites yourself. The choice is clear.
