Latest DM&E poll now online

The results for the latest poll on the DM&E expansion project are now online in PDF format. This poll was commissioned by the Rochester Coalition, which opposes the railroad’s plan to route coal trains through the city. The results of the poll indicate an overall lack of support for a proposed $2.5 billion federally guaranteed loan to finance the project in the areas surveyed, which included the 1st Congressional District, the city of Rochester, all of South Dakota, and Brookings, SD.Another poll taken earlier in the month and commissioned by GOTRAC, a group that supports the expansion, indicated general support for the project in Minnesota. The official results of that poll, including the questions and breakdown of the data, have not been released.
