Bachmann to hold election night party outside her district
Tuesday, November 02, 2010 at 12:11 pm
Rep. Michele Bachmann is hosting an election night party at the Sheraton in Bloomington tonight, according to an invitation for the party. For a candidate repeatedly criticized for her many appearances at Tea Party rallies and conservative media outlets outside the district, Bachmann’s choice for her victory party may be telling: Bloomington is not in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District; it’s in the district represented by Rep. Erik Paulsen.
Bachmann has taken heat from her DFL opponent Tarryl Clark, who says that Bachmann is rarely in her district. Last week, Clark’s campaign said, “While Bachmann has found time to travel the country, visiting 15 states outside of Minnesota, she has found only a handful of hours in all of 2010 for open discussion with her constituents.”
Clark’s campaign also launched an interactive map detailing Bachmann’s frequent travel around the country. Former candidate Maureen Reed also noted the trend, creating a similar site of her own.
The Minnesota Independent tried to confirm the information on the invite, but the number for the election night party RSVP went unanswered on Tuesday and the voicemail inbox was full. The Minnesota Independent has emailed the RSVP email listed in the invitation, but has yet to hear back. (While commenters say it’s a party for Twin Cities-area candidates, Bachmann’s campaign has not returned the Minnesota Independent’s request for clarification.)
Here’s the invite:

Maybe Bachmann required a hotel with a large ballroom to accommodate her many well-wishers.
On the other hand, the Motel 6 party room in St. Cloud will suffice for her opponent.

I hope the Sheraton in Bloomington is infected with bedbugs.

This is a party for all the metro GOP candidates and they have the party there every election day. Wow, breaking news story. Great investigative reporting Independent.

This is going to be a great victory party and a great time to start thinking about getting rid of Obama altogether in 2012.

Tim, your comments sum up the whole Republican party’s platform….no solutions.

Bachmann has no substance. I hope MN-6 knows what they are doing.

This woman is not fit for office no sane rational person could listen to her lies and distortions and say hey I should vote for her another sad sad day for minnesota if this woman gets elected again. Dont vote on a twisted idealology but on truth and facts according to the royal law of Christ and the US constitution.

That’s true! The GOP has one goal…and that’s to make Obama a one term president. If they win the House, at least they’ll have to be somewhat proactive and stop with the obstruction.

Its pretty clear from the comments here that Bachmann supporters don’t care what she does. She spends her time outside the state raising money, she’s done absolutely nothing during her four years in the house. No legislative accomplishments to distinquish her, if it wasn’t for her outlandish statements no one would know who she is. And yet, her supporters don’t care, they don’t believe in good government and would just as soon pay her to do nothing. Its really kind of sick.

Doesn’t having your post-election party outside of your own district kind of send the message that you think of your voters as CHUMPS? How freaking rude can you be to your district? I bet the hotel managers in St. Cloud are livid.

HOW can the good people of Minnesota elect a totally dispicable person like Michele Bachman. She is a JOKE!
