Gov. Tim Pawlenty finished a distant fifth place among potential presidential hopefuls in a poll of Republican voters released on Monday. According to the Quinnipiac University poll, Pawlenty trailed Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and Newt Gingrich, who all broke the 15 percent mark. Pawlenty garnered 6 percent in the poll and beat out Mitch Daniels, Haley Barbour, and John Thune.
Palin led the pack with 19 percent and Romney and Huckabee were close behind with 18 percent and 17 percent respectively. Gingrich placed fourth with 15 percent.
Pawlenty at 6 percent, with Daniels, Barbour and Thune each garnering 2 percent.
The poll also looked at match-ups with President Barack Obama and found Romney in a statistical tie while Palin and Huckabee would lose to the incumbent.
Pawlenty had a 13 percent favorable rating and a 10 percent unfavorable rating. Seventy-six percent didn’t know enough about him to form an opinion.

Pawlenty will run for Senate. Just my prediction. I don’t predict which senator he’ll challenge, though my guess is Coleman will be allowed a rematch if he wants it, which means Pawlenty challenges Klobuchar.
Unless Bachmann wants that shot. Politics is complicated.

I question the value of presidential polls taken a full two years prior to the election. However, I love the expression on the Governor’s face in the capture. That screams for a caption. I’ll suggest: “People…people who need people… Are the luckiest people…”
Anyone other suggestions?

Presidential polls taken two years out say much more about current politics than the next election. I don’t think this poll means anything. However, I love the picture of T-Paw. It needs a caption.

Tim Pawlenty and Harold Hamilton were using Heroin at Micro Controls Company on the day Pawlenty announced his run for Governor. They are associated with the major drug distribution networks in Minnesota. This network brings heroin through Minneapolis Airport from Europe and Asia and cocaine from South America through Florida.

Pawlenty has been quietly laying the groundwork in Iowa & New Hampshire for 2 years. Pawlenty could easily surprise to the upside in Iowa – a caucus state. If you hear of T Paw flying to Arkansas, pay attention. Huckabee may decide he can’t win. If Huckabee supports Pawlenty in order to stop Romney, Pawlenty could win Iowa, skate out to New Hampshire and cross-check Romney.

His picture does him justice, looks as ridiculous as he is.
