Mall of America, Walmart: New homeland security fronts

The Mall of America — along with hundreds of Walmart stores nationwide — is teaming up with the Department of Homeland Security to deliver a simple message: If you notice anything weird, report it to law enforcement.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has announced an expansion of the “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign, which seeks to “engage the public and key frontline employees to identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper transportation and law enforcement authorities,” according to a DHS press release.
Today Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced Walmart’s participation, according to a DHS press release. The nation’s largest retailer will have 230 stores participating immediately, with as many as 588 eventually taking part. The Mall of America’s participation was announced last week; it’ll be joined by “the American Hotel & Lodging Association, Amtrak, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, sports and general aviation industries, and state and local fusion centers across the country.”
“Homeland security begins with hometown security, and every citizen plays an important role in ensuring America’s safety,” said Napolitano. “The ‘If You See Something, Say Something’ campaign will provide the citizens of Minnesota and the many shoppers and visitors to Mall of America with the tools to identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper law enforcement authorities.”
The expanded campaign, unveiled at a mall ceremony last week, will include print and video advertisements throughout the complex.
For Walmart’s part, the deal seems to suggest a warming of relations with Napolitano’s department: As Todd Heywood at our sister site, the Michigan Messenger, reports, the big-box retailer agreed to pay the federal government $11 million after a four-year DHS investigation revealed its contractors were hiring undocumented workers.

“If you notice anything weird, report it to law enforcement.” Does this include Michelle Bachmann and John Kline? Just asking.

Law enforcement would be busier than one armed paper hangers if I reported every weird thing I saw at the MOA (don’t get me started on that store with all the animal print blankets).

Just what we need 1984 …… going after ‘every one’ except the people who are actually responsible for the acts of “Domestic terrorism” (via ISLAMISTS or Muslim converts).
Yep they’ll do as good of a job as Janet Napolitano is doing with TSA (going after (and TRAUMATIZING) UNDER AGED CHILDREN …….while Islamists and other people (mainly Muslim converts) ……….are unchecked.
Anyone who supports these MORONS are the TERRORISTS, NOT our UNDERAGED CHILDREN! This is not about security at all! THis is about JANET (The SKUNK) Napolitano saying WE OWN YOU! And to that I say STFU you STUPID PRICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! SEE YOU IN COURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
