Walz speaks out on Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

By Andy Birkey
Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 4:43 pm

Rep. Tim Walz, the highest ranking enlisted soldier to ever serve in Congress, spoke on the House floor on Wednesday urging his colleagues to pass a repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Walz said that comments from Republicans that soldiers on the ground could not handle serving with fellow gay and lesbian soldiers were offensive. The House voted on Wednesday evening to repeal the law which prohibits gays and lesbians from serving openly in all branches of the military 250 to 175.

“I am offended by the idea and the notion that they are not able to handle change in policy,” Walz told his House colleagues. “These men and women make up the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen. They accept and complete missions every day that require incredible discipline and bravery.”

He called for the repeal saying that DADT was harming, not helping, the military.

“This discriminatory policy is hurting our military readiness and weakening our nation, such as releasing dozens of Arabic linguists simply because they were homosexual,” he said. “Serving in the military we believe in duty, honor and country. asking these brave people to lie goes against all of our value. Our military heroes know it’s time to end this policy, the American people know it’s time to end this policy.”

It’s going to be interesting when the infantry is all women and homosexuals.

We’ll have to start hiring mercenaries again to defend ourselves.

Ray – Grow a brain, will ya??

Just in case you missed the statement made by AFA in another story, here’s part of the text:

“Hitler recruited around him homosexuals to make up his Stormtroopers, they were his enforcers, they were his thugs. And Hitler discovered that he could not get straight soldiers to be savage and brutal and vicious enough to carry out his orders, but that homosexual solders basically had no limits and the savagery and brutality”

As I read this, AFA thinks homosexuals can be pretty nasty on the battlefield.

You guys need to get your bigoted views straight. It kind seems like you’re all over the place. Consistency, consistency, consistency is the name of the game you know.

What would an army store keeper know about soldiering.

A homosexual, Pvt. Bradley Manning, is responsible for stealing thousands of classified government documents and turning them over to wikileaks, endangering the lives of diplomats all over the world and compromising the security of United States, all because he supposedly got into a lovers spat with his drag queen boyfriend.

Which is why I am proud of my Congressman and dear friend, Tim Walz. He speaks with clarity on the issues. When Tim Walz speaks on the House Floor, people listen.

Dennis,
While you disparage Walz’ honorable service, why don’t you share yours? Your telling me a Command Sergeant Major doesn’t know about soldiering? To attack a soldier is typical of Republicans, and disgusting. Does your service compare to his?

If a grunt says it wouldn’t matter would that mean anything to you?

I was an 11B and 11H infantryman for 8 years. I became a Signal Officer and was awarded a Bronze Star for service in and around Baghdad.

My dad was an 11C infantryman in Viet Nam and was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.

Both of us former grunts wouldn’t give a rats ass who had our back. All that matters is you know they got your back.

Quit acting like you talk for all “real” soldiers, and acting like Walz is somehow inferior to you.

Walz is right. today’s soldiers are the most professional in the world. Repealing DADT might destroy you, but not them.

Tim Walz is no store keeper.

A Retired Command Sargeant Major in the Minnesota Army National Guard, he knows how to train soldiers. One does not get to be a Command Sargeant Major for being good. This is a position that has to be earned. Many are called, but few make the grade.

To the best of my knowledge, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” is the first time a public policy has been created that allows you to keep your job if you lie, but allows you to be fired for telling the truth. The fact that this is the policy of the MILITARY, where honesty was supposed to be an ideal, is astonishing.

A note to Dennis and his ilk, ……

there have been homosexuals fighting in America’s Armed Forces since the American Revolution. There will be in the future as well. This time with Honor, Truth, and Dignity.

This will destroy our military. Sodomy is not something that should be promoted but discouraged.

The reason Hitler recruited homosexuals are because they have no moral obligation to guide their decision and motives. They have no conscious, which makes them great for a tyrannical dictatorship. The fact that Hitler recruited homosexuals should be enough evidence to keep them out of our military.

The radical homosexual agenda is now trying the take complete control of the Democratic Party and convert the US into a tyranny. They have become the most dangerous enemy within the US and have fooled a lot of good people into sympathizing with them without realizing they are allowing them to setup a theocracy that has already begin to persecute everyone that disagrees with them.

In the last week alone, several Christians have been sued, like these;
Christianity is under attach
http://www.christianpost.com/article/20101210/prayers-urged-for-christian-guesthouse-owners-sued-by-gay-couple/
University: Dump Christian beliefs on homosexuality, or else
http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=236913

What the nation does not seem to understand is that – an immoral society cannot be free. The freedom that the radical homosexual agenda desires from the Christian sexual restrains can only be achieved by removing Christianity from the hearts and minds of the entire public – and that can only be done by force, just as Hitler and many other communist nations have tried.

The freedom the radical homosexuals desire will results in a nation without freedom. And a nation without freedom means a nation with economic prosperity. Take Cuba or China or Russia as an example of how that turns out as millions continue to die from poverty in these nations. This is the path that the radical homosexual agenda is leading our nation down and this is why it is so important that the public wake up before it’s too late.

A society needs to be guided by common values, either by God or by the state. But the only way that a people can uphold freedom is if it submits to the authority of God. Freedom cannot exist under the strong arm of the state. Freedom from Christian values can only be achieved by slavery to the state.

If we want to remain a free people, we much resist the radical homosexual agenda.

Tim – you are so absurd I have trouble believing you’re actually real. But let’s give you the benefit of the doubt. I’ve asked you this before and you never responded:

Just what is this radical, homosexual agenda you always speak of?

Eric

Tim,

I sometimes wonder if you’re actually a gay rights supporter parodying the religious right, since you make your side look so comical.

You write: “This will destroy our military.”

Where’s your evidence for this?

“The radical homosexual agenda is now trying the take complete control of the Democratic Party and convert the US into a tyranny.”

I suppose you’re next going to tell us that when the evil “homosexual agenda” takes over that True Believing Christians will be sent to FEMA concentration camps as part of the New World Order. But I’m curious: Where do the ever-plotting Freemasons, the underground but omnipresent satanists, and the tiny-in-number but diabolically clever secular humanists come into play? Are they all going to form a joint dictatorship? Are they going to use UN troops to go door-to-door to confiscate Bibles? Is this evil cabal going to be shuttering churches and turning them into homosexual indoctrination centers?

Please, Tim, spill the beans on your insider information.

Eric –

You seem to thing that the things I mensioned are should be discarded as cracy ideas that may happen in the distant future.

But they are already happening. Bible have been removed from public schools. Churches are being shut down all over the world where freedom is no longer protected. Pastors in Canada have already been jailed. Schools are already indoctrinating children with homosexual books. Wake up, the tyranny is already here.

Tim
Comment posted December 16, 2010 @ 12:20 pm

Eric – What is it going to take before you see the fruit of the radical homosexual agenda?

Will it be after churches are forced to shut down? Will it be after businesses are forced to close? Will it be after the government shuts down adoption agencies? Or will it take all the way until the poverty sets in and begins killing millions because of the economic collapse? Or perhaps after the US donations that feed a good part of the world dry up and result is millions of deaths in other nations?

Or maybe it will not be until the government is forced to take control of all sources of information that disagree? The homo-lobby has already forces Apple computers to pull apps from its iphone. The government, under Obama’s czars, are currently working very hard to take control of the Internet and shut down talk radio.

I’m not sure that will be enough. You may have to see the death of Christians before you realize what you were a part of. Many people that supported Hitler didn’t think he was that bad and they looked the other way when they saw the evidence all around them – until it was too late.

Kind of overboard Casimir. Now, we should seriously help support Tim and Dennis to find like minded souls in the Saudi Arabian and Iranian totalitarian dictatorships. I think we should protect Tim and Dennis, and the safest place for them probably would be Somalia or Iran, where they don’t have to fear the Big Gay Army of the USA! I’m sure you would even help me pack their bags for them on their flight to freedom from the Gays and the Feminists.

I assume that Tim and Dennis are probably good laissez faire libertarians. Somalia would be perfect for them. They could also convert all the locals to Jesus’s message of free market capitalism, wealth accumulation, and hatred of gays. Those seem to be Jesus three main themes since it is all these guys focus on.

And btw Tim, a tyranny is by those who have power, and rights, like you, to the unrepresented. GLBT’s have yet to be granted their full compliment of full citizenship rights, intimate liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The tyranny comes from people like you, who have your rights, privilege and spread KNOWN FALSEHOODS about minorities in an effort to marginalize and dehumanize. The term homosexual “indocrination” is a fallicy. Every single GLBT was heterosexually indocrinated and it didn’t work. I dont think you have anything to worry about. GLBT’s arent killing christians, unlike christians are trying to legally do in other segments of the world and have done over time. No one here is buying your koolaid.

The passage of the DADT repeal is good for this country.

The close to 15,000 trained patriotic Americans who were discharged or about to be, can now hopefully come back. Perhaps this will increase recruitment to aid the already stressed troops serving 3 and 4 tours in war zones.
