Bachmann for Senate? Or president?

In two separate statements this weekend, Rep. Michele Bachmann left the door open on whether she would seek higher office in 2012. The Hill reported Sunday that Bachmann hasn’t said for certain whether she wants to challenge Sen. Amy Klobuchar, but has the resources and party backing to make the challenge. Republican blogger Ryan Lyk, noting Bachmann’s large amount of spending in Iowa, spoke with Bachmann’s chief of staff, who said she “hasn’t ruled anything out” — including a run for president.

On running for president in 2012, “The Congresswoman certainly hasn’t ruled anything out in the future,” Bachmann’s chief of staff Andy Parrish told Lyk. “As a former federal tax attorney, small business owner and a mother of five and foster mother of 23, she knows what is at stake in the next election. Right now, she is focused on fighting to give the American people back their healthcare by fully repealing Obamacare and fighting to make the tax cuts permanent.”

Lyk, who writes for Minnesota Democrats Exposed, noted that Bachmann spent more money on Republican candidates in Iowa than Sarah Palin.

Bachmann’s spokesman Sergio Gor told the Hill that “nothing’s off the table for the future” in terms of a challenge to Klobuchar.

Bachmann currently has a cash advantage over Klobuchar, reports the Hill, and Bachmann led a Public Policy Polling survey last week asking Republican voters who they’d like to take on Klobuchar. In another PPP survey, Klobuchar led Bachmann in a theoretical matchup 56 to 39 percent.

I think president is definitely the way to go.

Maybe even President of the WORLD ! Yes, by all means do it. Go for it.

Seems like Bachmann is playing the same game Palin is – suggesting anything is possible, but committing to nothing. All just to keep her name in the news. No big surprise.

You better be careful Marcus. I think you just gave Bachmann a whole lot of poster art for her next batch of ads in the 6th District. Since those folks elected her, I’m sure they will simply love those pics!!

“Look! There’s our dear, sweet Ms Bachmann. How pretty she looks.”

If Bachmann is her opponent, Klobuchar will have little trouble with fundraising.

Bachmann trying to win outside her district — that could be fun.

So in 2012 I will again look at the Republican candidates and think:
“This is the best they can find?”

Michele Bachmann will have a hard time convincing voters outside of the 6th CD that she has accomplished a lot in the 6 years she would have been in Congress.

Bachmann has accomplished NOTHING in Congress, but National celebrity status!! Sure, Bachmann will be able to raise a lot of money, but she will have an even harder time going up against Klobuchar, who is well liked throughout the state.

Now that Bachmann’s party is in the majority, LadyK may rue the day she complained that Michelle hadn’t accomplished anything.

Bachmann has accomplished much by speaking out and providing votes in opposition to the Left’s misguided agenda of more government control. Her fund-raising proves that her constituents all over the country are very appreciative of her efforts.

What has Keith Ellison and Betty McCollum accomplished during their time in office? Spending OPM doesn’t count as an accomplishment, but thievery.

Sorry Dennis, blabbing on and on and on isn’t accomplishing anything. You could get that from a silly wind-up toy. Hmmmmmmmmm………

Other than her involvement in some silly light bulb bill (which failed) I have seen no evidence of Bachmann doing anything but blab, blab, blab. Enlighten us with something concrete and specific.

How interesting Dennis mentioned McCollum. She carried a bill to act against adolescent girls being forced into marriages. It passed unanimously in the Senate, but then House Republicans chose to be pricks by stopping it in the House. The bill was voted on under a rule that requires a supermajority, so the Republicans made up a claim it would promote abortion, a claim Senate Republicans mysteriously missed if it was real, and voted it down.

So Republicans, why are you in favor of forced marriages for adolescent girls? You don’t get to claim that’s a “have you stopped beating your wife” question when you when just voted against a ban on wife-beating.
