Bachmann mulling run for president

According to ABC News, Rep. Michele Bachmann is mulling a run for president in 2012 and will start meeting with Iowa power brokers to determine the efficacy of such a move this month. Her aides would neither confirm nor deny that she had plans on the high office, and her spokesman did not rule out a Bachmann bid for president.

“A source close to the three-term congresswoman said Bachmann will travel to Iowa this month for multiple meetings to seek advice from political forces there and party elders close to the caucus process before coming to a final decision regarding a potential presidential run,” wrote ABC News’ John R. Parkinson on Wednesday. Parkinson noted that Bachmann has several appearances already booked in Iowa.

“Nothing is off the table,” Bachmann chief of staff Andy Parrish told ABC News. “The congresswoman is excited about her first trip to Iowa this year.”

In mid-December, Bachmann staffers told the Republican blog Minnesota Democrats Exposed that they wouldn’t rule out a presidential run. Bachmann’s appearance in Michigan just after the Christmas holiday also prompted rumors of a possible candidacy.

But the possibility goes back further: In late 2009, she said she’d run if God told her to.

“If I felt that’s what the Lord was calling me to do, I would do it,” she said. “When I have sensed that the Lord is calling me to do something, I’ve said yes to it. But I will not seek a higher office if God is not calling me to do it. That’s really my standard.

“If I am called to serve in that realm I would serve,” she concluded, “but if I am not called, I wouldn’t do it.”

The idea of her debating Obama delights me so utterly that I just might make a contribution to her PAC to make it happen!

It’d be a real shame if she became this nation’s first female president. Although, I think the chances of her getting the Republican nomination to run against President Obama are about slim to none. Thankfully.

She’d wipe the floor with Barry since telepromoters wouldn’t be allowed.

Since the democrats insisted that an empty suit community organizer with zero experienced nor accomplishments was qualified to be POTUS, it’s amusing that they’d have the temerity to question anyone’s credentials now.

Even after four years on the job he’ll be running as the “not as bad as Carter was” candidate.

Barry, teleprompter, gosh Dennis you guys are hilarious. Just like God telling Michelle to run for Prez, hilarious. Seriously, God does have a sense of humor, but one thing I’ve always wondered: How does Michelle know itsGod and not the other guy? I’ve heard that he plays little tricks like that.

Michele Bachmann said she fasted for 3 days before God told her to run for Congress.

My advice to God, “Take your time! There’s no need to rush! You have all of eternity to decide to tell Michele Bachmann to run for President!”

I liked the “consulting party elders” line. Cute Andy.
