Bachmann offers everyone at CPAC a free drink

Jokes about debt to China: "Hu’s your daddy!"

If there one way to win the coveted presidential straw poll at CPAC, it’s to offer everyone in attendance a free drink. Rep. Michele Bachmann, who’s rumored to be running in 2012, kicked off the conservative gathering on Thursday with a rousing speech bashing “Obamacare” and Rep. Nancy Pelosi that included an announcement that she was hosting a party Thursday evening — and the bar tab was on her.

To Saturday Night Live fans, Bachmann joked, “Someone told me I need to find the right camera,” alluding to criticism of her tea party response to President Obama’s State of the Union address by the sketch comedy show.

“It’s a new day in Washington, D.C. We have so much to be grateful for,” Bachmann said. She talked about the three-legged stool of the movement which includes fiscal conservatives, social conservatives and security hawks.

“You have been part of the down payment on bringing back liberty to America,” she said. “You helped pry that gavel out of Speaker Pelosi’s hands. She wasn’t really willing to let John Boehner have it, but he got it.”

Bachmann praised the election of Republican governors and state legislatures across the country in 2010 because they will control the redistricting process.

“The political lines will be drawn with these new governors and representatives controlling the chambers across the country. If there was ever a time to make a change, this was it,” she said. “This was a historic change election and this was the change we were hoping for.”

Then she offered a free drink to those in attendance as thanks for their work.

“I think after all that work, I think it’s proper and fitting that we throw ourselves a big party,” she said. “At 5:30 pm, I’m throwing a party, the bar tab is mine, so let’s party hardy tonight. And the bar tab is on me!”

She threw the activists plenty of red meat as well. “If President Obama wins another term… we will be in debt to the tune of $21 trillion. That’s six years from now.”

She continued, “The president of China is named Hu [Jintao]. With all the money we owe China, I think we might rightly say Hu’s your daddy!”

Her constant traveling and speeches anywhere but Minnesota were an issue in the last election. It didn’t work against her, but democrats please have an intern just sit down to log her schedule and get a few seconds of video from all her speeches all over the place. It would make a very simple and effective 1 minute web ad and 30 second TV ad. Michele Bachmann is EVERYWHERE BUT MINNESOTA.

And from ‘The Atlantic’ today to once again prove she will do or say anything to keep her name out there:

“As the Conservative Political Action Conference begins………………….

Kicking things off was Michele Bachmann, the flame-haired (at least today) Minnesota Republican and tea party leader, who warned the assembled students and older conservatives that the U.S. tax code would be taking 75 percent of their income during their peak earning years.

She further warned that the president would be making the nation more like Spain, with a 22 percent unemployment rate and a socialist government.”

Bachmann is like a bad train wreck. I really don’t want to look, but I simply can’t help myself. She is just sooooooooo amazing (but for all the wrong reasons).

I sent off a LTE to the St. Cloud Times. I hope they publish it. In the letter, I asked the constituents of the 6th Congressional District how they feel about “being used by MIchele Bachmann for her own personal gain”?

I did a little raving about my Rep., Tim Walz. Triple the workload that Bachmann has in D.C., yet MAKES time to meet with constituents, hold Town Halls in person, meet with Business leaders regarding jobs and econmic developement, Veterans, etc. That he works for his paycheck! While Bahcmann goes off, spending more time outside the 6th District than in. The contrast could not be more obvious!

Finally, a true Tea Party, pro liberty, anti establishment, truth activist politician in the halls! I can’t wait until the 2012 election when even more of these horrible establishment politicians are rooted out and real American patriots like Michelle Bachmann walk the halls as the majority! It’s only a matter time! Ron Paul 2012!

It is not Government’s place to dictate to its people with laws who they can love or marry, or who can be in the Military. Not it is their place to dictate what they do in the privacy of their bedrooms, or what takes place in a Woman’s Uterus.

But with Michele Bachamnn, she illustrates with bloviating rhetoric that that is Government’s purpose!!!

I always enjoy a free drink. But it’s hard to enjoy a free drink when your head’s up your ass.

Bopper, what would a democrat know or care about liberties?

You’re obviously confusing them with “entitlements.” Because you’re right, you haven’t lost any. Yet.

@ Dennis

It’s funny how guys like you espouse the virtues of “Liberty” and yet you can’t embrace the virtues of “Liberalism”..
