Gallup: Bachmann, Pawlenty in single digits among possible 2012 candidates

A new Gallup poll of potential 2012 Republican nominees for the White House shows Minnesota’s two contenders, Tim Pawlenty and Rep. Michele Bachmann, in the low single digits among Republican and Republican-leaning voters. Bachmann ranked sixth in the poll with Pawlenty just behind her at seventh.

Bachmann garnered 4 percent and Pawlenty got 3 percent in the poll released on Wednesday. They placed behind Mike Huckabee who received 18 percent, and Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin who each got 16 percent. Trailing were Newt Gingrich with 9 percent and Ron Paul with 5.

Gallup also looked at performance across its past three presidential polls. Bachmann hadn’t indicated an interest in the presidency until January, so the pollster only had one data set for her.

Pawlenty, however, has hovered between 3 percent and 4 percent since last September.

“As is usually the case in early nomination polls, the top candidates tend to be the best known. Huckabee, Romney, and Ron Paul all sought the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, Palin was the party’s vice presidential nominee that year, and Gingrich was the speaker of the House from 1995-1999,” Gallup said. “So far, none of the lesser-known candidates, including some current and former state governors, has broken out of the low single digits.”

And all of them are eminently more qualified than the community-organizer-in-chief. The only thing he has that they lack is an abundance of melanin.

Walking Eagle’s pathetic attempt at racist remarks is but an indication of his sexual insecurity. Keep it to yourself; we aren’t interested.

Thank you Dennis. Someone has to witless (sic) God’s love and truth to the masses. And you’re just the person for the job. After all, Christians have long been opposed to organized communities, when they’re non-white. And we can count on non-organized twinkle-eyed faith muddled zealots to make this country a more perfect non-union.
Thank God for tweedle T and tweedle Dum.

Praise Jebus, God hates half-black people, Amen.

God hates rednecks
carl that is the most redneck statement i have seen on
the mn independent they should look at it and abolish any comments you make in the future

i was a total supporter of the republican party for 25 years and now i wouldn’t support lunatic ideology,s like bachman

carl and dennis you just strengthen my support of the democratic party

keep flapping your jaw, because you do more harm than good to the people you support

lane after reading about 12 times maybe your right
i don’t consider my self super educated or on the other hand ignorant of issues

but i see one thing over and over when i am out in the field politicing
that most people want straight simple to understand messages and not cute or or so called sophisticated answers or comments
in fact they hate it
i have been told that so many times i cant count it thousands

and then they shy away from the political message
i use this example alot
if i am trying to convey a message and you misunderstand me ,who is wrong you or i . so at this point carls message is full of cute or philosophical phrases ect to make a point ,
i feel that is wrong ,, now on the other hand if he is sharp to the point and in plain English ,then i would be wrong ,, i even think there was a court ruling on this

but carl if it was meant to be a joke make sure you say so , and i am sorry

but this is an exact example of why the average person doesn’t get involved
or as in my case make a bad statement because of key words being misunderstood and then it snow balls or taken out of content
do you all see what i am trying to say
this all comes from talking to people for over 20 years in booths at events ect.

no offence intended if you are correct lane i do love your posts and read them carefully but if you want to win your point keep it simple , a judge friend told me that and thank God for speell check sorry Carl

ps that’s why in my opion mccain /palin lost the last election stupid one liners ,cute sayings and talking over peoples heads
and palin is still doing it , i hope this makes sense, our country depends on people getting involved THIS IS ONE OF MY BIGGEST MESSAGES I TRY TO CONVEY WHEN I AM IN THE BOOTHS

They have well earned single digits. It’s just a matter of deciding which single digits.

MB will stay on the road no matter what gallop says. She can raise a lot of money form folks who think she is Palin with brains no matter what her policies, or lack there of ,are. She continues to spout nonsense as “we have the best health care system in the world”, ” We are the Saudi Arabia of oil. ” she actually said that , confuses John Quincy with his founder dad -John Adams and a lot more .

She is actually working for the Dems as she makes them look brilliant and Glen Beck actually thinks that not only can she get the nomination but actually beat Obama.

If she runs for Senate in 12 she will get beat big time. More votes were cast for dems at house level then rep’s and this was a banner year for R’s. MB spent something north of $70/vote and there were almost 48% of her district said no to Bachmann. I would say that she should get back to work but she has nothing constructive to add to our government.

Like it or not we need government and so we need good people in the House but MB is not one of them.
