Bachmann takes trip to Mexico, Colombia

Rep. Michele Bachmann took a break from her whirlwind “all in for 2012″ tour of the U.S. last week when she traveled to Colombia and Mexico as part of an official congressional delegation visit to those two countries, Politico reports. Bachmann returned on Friday afternoon.

The trip was an information-gathering effort geared toward assessing the situation of drug cartels and security in the region. Bachmann was recently named to the House Intelligence Committee in January.

Bachmann, whose ambitious domestic travel schedule has fueled speculation about a possible run for president (rumors she doesn’t deny), hasn’t had much official foreign policy experience since being elected to Congress in 2006.

Bachmann has made several trips to Israel, however, on the dime of interest groups such as the American Israel Education Foundation and the Jewish Community Relations Council.

Stateside, Bachmann’s campaign, tea party and GOP-related trips have taken her to South Carolina, Hawaii, Montana, and Iowa. In March, she has scheduled trips to Florida, Iowa and New Hampshire, and in June she’s going to Louisiana.

Yes it is. It keeps her away from us in her District and away from Washington where you might actually vote, both I consider good things.

Hmm, call her Michele “Natasha” Bachmann. And imagine, an Oral Roberts University graduate sitting on an intelligence committee. Truth, though stranger, takes a back seat to fiction.

BTW, What info requires her to go the Mexico and Columbia to receive? She can’t be briefed in Washington?

Praise Jebus, God hates intelligence channels, Amen.

Dennis: I’ve asked you repeatedly to abide by our comment policies and keep your posts relevant to the topic at hand. I’m deleting your recent comment, which has nothing to do with Bachmann’s trip to Latin America. I’m also giving you the courtesy of a final notice: Your IP address will be banned without warning or comment next time you violate these policies. Thanks.

What’s with the headline? Does someone need a remedial “this is how you use an apostrophe” class?

Yes, Justin, I need a remedial class on avoiding typos.

Bachmann can run her mouth about Obama, but she ignores the challenge of a child?
