Bachmann to form presidential exploratory committee in June (or sooner)

We’ve heard Rep. Michele Bachmann’s name bandied about as a runningmate for Sarah Palin in 2012, we’ve seen the Draft Bachmann website, and we’ve followed the Sixth Congressional District Republican as she’s criss-crossed the country hinting at a possible bid for the GOP endorsement for president. Now CNN reports that Bachmann’s presidential plans will be getting a whole lot clearer soon: She’ll reportedly form an exploratory committee in early June.
Bachmann — who has recently made multiple visits to key states for presidential candidates, including Iowa and New Hampshire — could form a committee sooner, a source close to her tells CNN.
“She’s been telling everyone early summer,” the source said. “If you [debate sponsors] come to us and say, ‘To be in our debates, you have to have an exploratory committee,’ then we’ll say, ‘Okay, fine…I’ll go file the forms.’”
Three GOP primary debates are scheduled before or during that timeframe, one on May 2 in California, one May 5 in South Carolina, and an early June one in New Hampshire.
Fellow Minnesota Republican Tim Pawlenty announced the formation of his exploratory committee earlier this week.
CNN also reports that Iowa Republican state Sen. Kent Sorenson is likely to be Bachmann’s political director for the state. Our sister site, the Iowa Independent, reported last week that Sorenson has publicly put his support behind Bachmann.
“There is a void out there that needs to be filled,” he said. “I hope she decides to run. She is somebody that has the credentials to fire up the grassroots. She would be someone who could unite different factions of the party. She is a strong fiscal and social conservative.”
The site also notes recent legislation introduced by Sorenson, and it’s on a topic Bachmann has recently commented on. It would require anyone running for president to produce a birth certificate and make it available for public inspection.
Bachmann, who headlined a conference with key “birthers” last September, made this pledge last week: “I tell you one thing, if I was ever to run for President of the United States, I think the first thing I would do in the first debate is offer my birth certificate so we can get that off the table.”

Furthermore, her legal education is open to debate as well. She was in the last class of Coburn School of Law at Oral Roberts Univ when they decided to close (the VA school became Regent School of Law):

And she has no advanced degree in law, either, as she claims, because William & Mary, which she purports to have attended doesn’t offer any advanced law degrees:

Lying and embroidering one’s resume should give you pause about a person’s ethics. Bachmann has an agenda to make your children as ignorant as she is–and nothing more to offer; I hope MN can offer the rest of the country someone much, much better in the future.

The first part of the above comment was cut off–it said that Bachmann is not qualified to practice law in MN; thus, the reference.

Thanks for the links Older_Wiser. I was checking in here to see if anyone was ready to have a go at this.
Are we in shock or denial? As someone who takes her ability to buy elections seriously – I’m glad to see someone passing on information that deserves to be gone over with a fine tooth comb. She has admitted to going into tax law because God wants wives to be submissive to their husbands… And it was something her husband told her she should do.
My prediction? She might sit this election out and come back around for 2016. But if she has a go at 2012 it is worth it to take her as seriously as she takes her special messages from God.
Whether she is accurate or truthful seems to be irrelevant. She knows how to attract money and votes – she is fairly well-spoken, sticks to the message and looks good on camera. One of the most popular searches bringing people to my blog is “michele bachmann sexy” – and Republicans just might be willing to bankroll that.

The more Bachmann & Palin are out there the better for the Democrats.
I have to add that as much as I don’t like them (Bachmann/Palin) and their politics, I am glad the field is not all men. I like seeing women as part of the field – even if they are ridiculous and extreme.

P.S. But I don’t want them elected! I just want them to have just as much opportunity to be fools as the men do.
