Bachmann admits defunding ‘Obamacare’ won’t happen this year

In an interview with the Family Research Council (FRC) on Tuesday evening, Rep. Michele Bachmann admitted that the new health care law won’t be defunded in 2011. The FRC hosted a webcast called “Time to Act: How big government is fiscally and morally bankrupting America,” during which Bachmann also said she wants FRC’s membership to pray for her and other Republicans to have “supernatural abilities.”

FRC’s Tony Perkins said to Bachmann, “We need to defund the government takeover of health care. That needs to be included in the temporary or permanent fixes to the budget.”

Bachmann said, “Right now it doesn’t look that way like we will, and I’m very sorry to see that and i want to thank your listeners and viewers, they literally melted phone lines.”

She continued, “Because of the fact they pushed so hard now we are seeing in the 2012 budget, we are seeing a full repeal and defunding of ‘Obamacare’ for the 2012 proposed budget.”

But she was hopeful for next year. “Maybe not necessarily this week will we see that, but now we are seeing that in the Republican budget for 2012.”

She again claimed that the Affordable Care Act will fund abortions

“‘Obamacare’ for the first time in the history of this country will have taxpayer subsidized abortion in the health care bill. President Obama denied it, we know that it’s true. It’s already come true in Pennsylvania. We don’t want to see taxpayer-funded abortion.”

Despite Bachmann’s statement, numerous fact-checkers have dubbed the claim false. Politifact and Factcheck.org both evaluated numerous claims that the new health law pays for abortion and found those claims lacking truth.

As for Pennsylvania, the claim that “Obamacare” is paying for abortions there has been soundly debunked, most notably .

Perkins asked Bachmann, “How can folks that are watching pray for you?”

She said, “To have stamina and health and also more than anything I would ask for prayers for wisdom and for guidance. That is the most important thing.”

She continued, “Solomon said of the Lord when he was praying he wanted wisdom and understanding. For anyone who is in public office it doesn’t take long to realize the limits of our human ability.”

“We need a supernatural ability and that’s something only the Lord would provide.”

Pray for Michele to have… supernatural abilities? Thank you Oral Roberts University for yet another graduate with a strangle hold on reality.

Praise Jebus, God hates the laws of physics, Amen.

I just pray she’ll have more regard for the truth.

Ooh-la-la. She looks French. Is she? If so, that would hurt her in the GOP primaries–the GOP doesn`t like French people.

We could pray for her to find wisdom, but then she would have to change parties.

Just in case no one has noticed, the federal government is bleeding to death, paying out more than it is taking in. That’s what a deficit means. Unless a tourniquet should be applied, the patient will bleed to death quickly. Tourniquets may not be pleasant, but they can save lives. Without them there is no hope. You may or may not like her proposals, but Michele Bachmann has the honesty to tell the patient the truth about his condition, an attribute not found in those accross the political aisle.

“but Michele Bachmann has the honesty to tell the patient the truth about his condition, an attribute not found in those accross the political aisle.”

Unfortunately she does not have the honesty or perhaps moral character to propose realistic, effective and fair solutions to the problem. Instead she spreads lies and demonizes the opposition while consistently getting simple facts wrong.

I love how this fight over a tiny portion of the budget is sounded in the media as if it is important.

Bachman is a two face lying politition who cares for nothing but putting money in her account. Time and time again she has lied through her teeth in the same breath. Voting against giving up her pay during a government shutdown then stepping outside and saying to the media congress should not get paid during a shutdown.

Bring a 100000 troops home take the hit for the move and we save 1 trillion dollars over the next decade..

Simple.

WOW!!! And to think that “defunding Obamacare” was Michele Bachmann’s sole reason in life why she is a DO-NOTHING member of Congress.

You can always tell who is the whiner in the crowd. Always complaining, but has no clue as to how to offer solutions based on actual result elsewhere. Or is it that Michele Bachnmann suffers from Attention Deficit Syndrome? If there is a deficit in her getting attention, she makes something up in order to get it?

The phone lines are open.

Given Mr. Buckley’s diagnosis, I don’t know that applying a tourniquet is necessary, much less entrusting the bumbling first-year resident Michele Bachmann with this radical procedure given she still needs supervision, not knowing how to apply it correctly. I would recommend instead to apply pressure to stanch the blood flow (reduce spending), set up for blood transfusions (increase taxes) and get the patient into the operating room stat and let the skilled surgical staff do their work, consulting outside qualified experts as needed.

Run, Michele, Run! Help move the GOP even farther to the right. Help re-elect the President.

Just in case no one has noticed, the federal government is bleeding to death, paying out more than it is taking in.

That doesn’t seem to stop certain types of money-worshipper from giving more tax breaks to people and businesses that don’t need them and don’t do anything beneficial (for our country) with the savings, who then pretend to panic over the deficit, which propaganda victims and other brain-dead sheep eagerly eat up like it’s another chapter of the gospel.

Hmmm– seems Michele Bachmann has carefully retouched her background. She is NOT a 7th generation Iowan, and her roots are in Wisconsin, not Iowa!
