The day that people who gather to express an opinion, no matter how alternative or what non-violent method is utilized, and are beaten and imprisoned for their dissent is the day that American ideals are dead.

I would sooner be an Anarchist than one of you who make light of this situation; it could just as easily be you facing the riot-shields on the streets over injustices towards yourself. The whole “shut up and deal with it!” mentality will be the death of this nation and the ideals it was founded upon, and no man who seeks liberty or opposes injustice should be ridiculed for doing so.

This is what a police state looks like.

I don't know about some of you but as far as I know you are allowed by the Constitution of the United States to be able to protest. If they are sitting on a street corner or even in the street that is not reason to do this. If you can't understand that I hope they come for you next.

I agree. Sitting down on the ground is definite reason to beat someone repeatedly with a riot baton. And those people who were pepper sprayed while handing the riot police flowers? They should have been shot with anti-tank weapons. That would have shown those liberal demon worshiping anarchists a lesson.

“Conspiracy stories”? It's not a stry but a fact that the policing of the RNC convention was coordinated by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. So maybe the Minneapolis and St. Paul Police, the Ramsey Co. Sheriff and myriad other police outfits involved in this convention didn't take orders directly from the RNC, but the entire effort was stage managed indirectly by the RNC through the FBI which is quickly becoming the Republican Secret Police. It's not a “story” but a fact that. FBI agents were seen at the “pre-emptive” arrests which occured before the convention began. The FBI Joint Task Force was reported to be recruting moles and agents provoceteurs to infiltrate the desperado vegan groups and others. Conspiracy or not, the policing was carefully planned, stage managed and coordinated by federal officials and the RNC contracted for it if nothing else.

What you say about not winning any situation where the police are involved is a truism. The question is why should the police be deliberately herding peaceful, law abiding citizens who were walking on public streets into situations where they could be attacked by aggressive riot police for “not following directions”?

I heard that some of the protestors were claiming to be anarchists. An anarchist is a person who rebels against ANY authority or ruling power. So, why didn't we hear about the anarchists in Denver?

Did the liberal media cover it up or were these anarchist who rebel only when they don't the like current ruling power? It all seems very convenient…

Like I stated earlier, it couldn't have happened to a nicer group of people.

You can spout your conspiracy stories all you want, but the St. Paul and Minnneapolis police do not take orders from the RNC.

That being said, more times than not, you will not win any situation where the police are involved especially if its the Minneapolis police. Although, I'm sure there were martyrs in attendence who were willing to take a little rough-housing to get their story heard.

Apparently you and Mr. Palin above didn't read the other stories posted on this site about the tactics the RNC used against people who did move as instructed and then were attacked from different directions because the directions they were given were wrong. Gee I wonder if that was on purpose? Naw, the cops would never deliberately plan on hurting innocent people who were just walking on a public sidewalk expressing an opinions they disagreed with now would they?
