Former Gov. Tim Pawlenty announced his candidacy for President of the United States Sunday in a video in advance of his trip to Iowa today.

Watch the video:

In an email sent to supporters late Sunday, Pawlenty wrote, “I wanted you to be among the first to know that tomorrow, I will be in Iowa to announce that I’m running for President of the United States of America. I hope you’ll take a moment to watch this video previewing tomorrow’s announcement.

“We need a President who will tell the American people the truth about the severe challenges facing our nation and how we can get America back on track. President Obama won’t do that. I will.”

In the video, Pawlenty also takes direct aim at Obama saying, “we are going to have to give more than fancy speeches.”

“We’ve had three years of that, and we know it’s not working,” he adds.

The Des Moines event featuring Pawlenty is being billed as a town hall meeting and will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the State Historical Building in downtown. Mary Pawlenty, former Minnesota first lady, will provide the introduction.

Gov. T- Baggs !! You NEVER addressed the problems facing Minnesota under your Defunct Leadership.. Collapsing bridges, Placing political invalids in charge of State Agencies that need Professionals , $5,000,000,000++ Deficit Spending and the Wreck-less Credit Card spending you rang up on the Minnesota Tax Payer .. Let’s not mention an educational system left in shambles and a transportation grid that mimics a War Zone..

Fortunately, Most people think of an empty cardboard box with a suit when they think of “T- Paw”

I was actually quite impressed with one little bit of honesty by Mr. Pawlenty. He said with the challenges facing America it will take, 300,000,000 Americans to solve the problem. This seems about right since we have around 310,000,000 citizens. TPaw makes it clear from the get go that there are 10 million special folks at the top who won’t have to sacrifice a damn thing.

I see T-Paw is continuing his right wing biased press tour. Why can’t he (or Michele Bachmann for that matter) spend as much time with main stream media sources? What is he afraid of?

The electorate deserves more than is revealed from responses to canned, softball questions. He is short circuiting the purpose for a political campaign and Minnesota’s current legislative leadership exemplify the consequences of this cynical strategy. And this alone leaves me in doubt of his ability to lead.

Praise Jebus, God hates revealing His plans, Amen.

Marcus,

Are you suggesting that Faux is no more conservative than the shrinking three or that T-Paw hasn’t found a more enthusiastic media platform there? Over the last four months I’ve seen T-Paw more on Faux than the other three combined. I’m open to alternate views but not sure what you’re implying.

@ Carl>> I was just being a smart a$$.. I was figuring that his platform was “FAKES” News.. If you watch ANY of the local media however it’s ALL FOX news.. No matter what platform he dives from..

Marcus,

Ah, Fair enough. Interesting to note, on the day T-Paw officially announces his presidential campaign former Governor Carlson de-clawed him with a harsh and detailed criticism of his message and record.

Praise Jebus, God hates a party off message, Amen.
