Bachmann picks Rollins to head campaign

Rep. Michele Bachmann has selected high-profile political strategist Ed Rollins to run her presidential campaign, two sources close to Bachmann told CBS.
In 2007, Rollins was the national campaign chairman and senior adviser for Mike Huckabee’s presidential run. But according to Fox News, Rollins is most most famous for directing Ronald Reagan’s 1984 re-election campaign where he helped the former president carry 49 states.
“I’ve been in a lot of campaigns, but I’ve also always gone in the government,” Rollins said in a Jan. 2008 interview with Portfolio.com. ”I understand public policy. I understand the consequences of public policy, the good parts and bad parts.”
Bachmann is expected to announce her candidacy later this month in Iowa.
According to CBS, Rollins joins a staff that includes Brett O’Donnell, who advised George W. Bush and John McCain and is considered the best debate coach in politics. The team also includes Bob Heckman, who is prominent in the conservative movement.

Her campaign team will be largely organized around keeping her on message and away from unscripted questions (and answers). Ultimately her need to reveal the “Truth and the Way” will sink her. Americans don’t want a Faith Healer in Chief.

Bachmann must have basketloads of money to spend freely to get this guy for her campaign. Must be nice to have so much money coming in from people who aren’t her constituents. Who needs to deal with hick voters from the suburbs when the corporate elite beckon? Michele’s made her decision.

Bachmann has one of the worst attendance rates in congress. This will only get worse if she runs for president. She should resign the day she declares.

I wonder what Rollins’ salary will be and in what gated community he lives.
Michelle represents the sixth district and their civil views on society. I hope they are comfortable with Rollins not being taxed in the state of MN for income, although the sixth district contributions will go to his salary. Ah heck, he and she alike are probably in the upper 2% and paying at a lower rate… which leads me to wonder… if trickle down is the answer, then why don’t they just advocate for a 0% tax on the richest and show how well this is going to work.

Rollins plays dirty and he’s already (since being hired by Bachmann) bashed Palin on television (as he has done in the past). The Palin folks are apoplectic. This is going to go from zero to nasty in about ten minutes.

Ed Rollins needs to invest in a roll of duct tape or an S&M gag ball to keep the CRAZY from escaping Michele’s mouth.. Think of it as an “Oral Chastity Belt ” or an “Abstinence Only” program for Michele’s nutty ramblings .. Poor Mr. Rollins.. He’s going to be working overtime re-writing history on Wiki-Pedia and sweeping up after Michele’s “misstatements” ..

So will Rollins be a queen maker or Elmer Gantry? I suspect the latter.
BTW: The Bachmann family isn’t the only group imposing their extreme religious views with government money. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/07/catholic-charities-sue-st_n_872721.html. Hypocrites.
