Minnesota Grocers Offer Turkey Leftover Recipes–With Wine

The Minnesota Grocers’ Association, which has been pushing for liberalized alcohol sales regulations, is offering recipes for leftover turkey that utilize wine.

The Grocers’ Association is doing so in an effort to push their “Wine with Dinner” proposal, which seeks to legalize the sale of wine in grocery stores.

In addition to the recipes for Spaghetti and Shepherd’s Pie, the Grocers recommend a Beaujolais Nouveau, which, they say, “is a classic Thanksgiving-time wine, due to its annual release in early November.”

There should be plenty more recipes as the 2007 legislative session approaches; the Grocers will be working again on the “Wine with Dinner” measure, which failed to pass in 2006.

Beaujolais…. Not exactly a well-assembled wine.  Varies from year to year since it’s designed to be a very young wine (<1 year), but usually ends up tasting like moldy bread to me.  You want a good early-winter wine, try a 2001 Chateau Souverain Cabernet……that’s a hell of a bottle of wine.
