Walz to address the DNC in Washington; Transportation Secretary Peters to visit Rochester
According to a Minnesota DFL press release today, Congressman-elect Tim Walz will address the Democratic National Committee’s Executive Committee on Dec. 2 about the recent election. Meanwhile, Transportation Secretary Mary Peters will be coming to Rochester two days later for meetings about the DM&E railroad. Sen. Norm Coleman, who suddenly has decided to take a more active role in finding a solution to the battle between the DM&E and the Mayo Clinic over the railroad’s proposed expansion, will be accompanying her.
Meanwhile crews continue cleaning up last week’s DM&E derailment and ethanol spill. The DM&E seems to have a history of dropping its loads. All tolled, the railroad has dumped close to 75,000 gallons of ethanol on Minnesota soil in the last several years. That plus 13,235 gallons of gasoline would make enough E85 fuel to run Tim Walz’s E85 compliant van 1,235,294 miles.
That’s a lot of campaigns, right, Judi Dutcher?

Economic Terrorism — new Terrorism in America After following the actions of the DM&E Railroad for years — carefully for the past six months –it is crystal clear a new form of terrorism has struck in America: economic terrorism — facilitated by an all too accommodating Congress.
What can be done about it? Even judges reflect the political views of those who appoint them!
There is no reason the ethanol industry has to destroy health care for millions of Americans.
The Mayo Clinic and City of Rochester have done more in this decade than Homeland Security to protect the rights and well being of all Americans.
They walk the walk! They’re standing up for every one of us, and for our grandchildren!
My hope is that every single community impacted by the economic opportunism — i.e. economic terrorism — will follow their example.
Energy independence need not come at the cost of health, or health care!
