Bachmann to attend Family Research Council’s Values Voters Summit

Michele Bachmann has confirmed that she will speak at the Values Voters Summit in Washington, DC, in October. Bachmann has attended the summit, put together by the Family Research Council, an organization that is listed as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, for the past four years. First hosted in 2006, it gathers Christian conservatives from around the country to strategize on issues such as opposing abortion and LGBT rights.

Along with FRC, the summit is also being organized by another group that the SPLC has labeled a hate group, the American Family Association.

Two other presidential candidates, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum, will be speaking at the summit as well, along with top national Republicans. Speaker John Boehner of Ohio, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia, Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Rep. Steve King of Iowa are also speaking.

The summit has been the scene of controversy in the past. In 2008, vendors sold “Obama Waffles” with packaging many viewed as racist. Past summit speakers have made the claim that the anti-Christ will be a gay man, and a preacher made the case that it’s okay to call gays “faggots.”

Here’s Bachmann speaking at the 2010 Values Voter Summit:

My oh my! She is a busy girl. When on earth does she have time to do her work as a Representative of the 6th District? I guess she has to prioritize like everyone else and promoting herself is THE #1 priority.

At FRC she can say what she won’t say on public stations… she is safe here among her own. At FRC she can be all the bigot she can be.

I guess like Bachmann the FRC doesn’t judge people either or she wouldn’t attend.

I’m shocked–shocked, I tell you–to learn that Michele Bachmann is consorting with known hate groups. Who could’ve ever imagine that an upstanding Christian woman like her would be associated with such organizations? (That was sarcasm, in case you missed it. It doesn’t always translate well online.)

I thought she told us she’s only focus on economic issues? This gal keeps talking out of both sides of her mouth. There is not a anti-gay pledge she won’t sign, a church preaching the evils of homosexuality that she won’t attend, and ex-gay presentations that she doesn’t endorse. She’s plenty of time to attend these hate meetings speaking about being the tip of the spear on these issues that are critical to destroying America and our children… yet when asked by reporters about her efforts and positions on gay issues, she goes into robot mode reminding us that she is running for Presidency, expresses her love for all gay and lesbian people and refuses to discusses the frivolous issue.

I guess discrimination and racism are considered “Family Values”. I am surprised there is not a greater uprising among true Christians that their religion is being defiled by such extremists.

Can you imagine if all Christians were deemed religious zealots the way all muslims are considered terrorists by this group?

Gumpster, Christians are being viewed that way and it is sad.

These people are zealots. The control and indoctrination is a real danger to all american.

By the way, I LOVE these crazy photos of Bachmann! They show perfectly what’s really behind the mask she usually wears.

Golly gee MB, if we abolished all of those federal agencies, how would YOU get your greedy hands on your farm subsidies, medicaid reimbursements, and help with your mortgage?
And I didn’t even mention your pension, healthcare, etc., that you enjoy because OUR taxes pay for it.

For all the “research” performed by the FRC it seems willfully uninformed.

Praise Jebus, God hates critical thinkers, Amen.
