Bachmann slips in Iowa poll; Perry leads

The first Iowa poll to account for Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s announcement that he’s running for president has found that he’s knocked former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Minnesota U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann from the top of the pile.

Rick Perry 22%
Mitt Romney 19%
Michele Bachmann 18%
Ron Paul 16%
Herman Cain 7%
Newt Gingrich 5%
Rick Santorum 5%
John Hunstman 3%

The poll was conducted by Democratic polling firm Public Policy Polling between Aug.19-21. It has a margin of error of +/- 5.5 percent.

The poll results could alarm Bachmann’s campaign, which won the recent Iowa Straw Poll and led the pack in recent Iowa polls. The number of prospective Republican voters who see her negatively has almost doubled since Public Policy Polling’s last Iowa poll, from 16 percent negative to 35 percent.

Perry announced his official candidacy last week. It’s also the first poll showing the aftermath of former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s withdrawal from the race.

It’s going to be fun watching these GOP/Teabagger hopefuls battle it out for #1 position. I predict it will be bloody, hateful and just plain ugly. In the end there are going to be some really sore losers. Big hair Bachmann being the biggest sore loser. Then what does she do? Jockey for #2 position as VP or whore herself out for a Cabinet position? What would anyone think she is capable of heading? Or does she just slink back into the shadows and remain a 6th District Rep who made it nowhere? Fascinating stuff!

Despite Bachmann’s efforts to hide, lie and pivot from her foundation and core beliefs as a virulent and obsessed anti-gay activist, a divisive and failed legislator, a toxic and absent Congresswoman neglecting her district, a citizen and public servant always collecting some type of government subsidy, a religious extremist with a laser beam focus on inserting a theocracy that will threaten the lives of millions of Americans… her negatives continue to mount and we’re just getting started. Perhaps folks are waking up to this grifter?
