The religious right is right on! Thank God that Republicans are so in touch with the average American. While McCain is not that attractive a candidate. Sarah Palin is terrific and the Republican platform is impressive in its inclusiveness and reasonableness. It is quite refreshing to know the Country will be led by those who hold similar values to the vast majority of Americans.

If Republicans lose this election, maybe the Christian Right will finally get the message that their agenda is not resonanting with Americans. A constitutional amendment to ban abortion? After the vote in South Dakota, hardly a liberal state, rejected this, are they listening? I also remember hearing some where that Bauer, as an advisor to President Reagan did everything he could in the early days of the AIDS epidemic to block the Surgeon General's efforts to have frank sex education to stop the spread of the disease. But that offendered the Christian Right's ideology. I wonder how many people, including women and children, were infected in America because they failed to step up, deal with logic and reason and not their rigid ideology and address a serious problem.

"We want to work with people, we don’t want to alienate anybody"
Yet, a woman isn't allowed to do what she wants with her body (women deserve better than abortion? I'm sorry mr. 80 year old man.. how do you know what I deserve better than?) and gay people can't get married or join the military. Then again, I guess these guys never considered woman or homosexuals as real people to begin with. You know what? let's take away their right to vote while we're at it.
And abstinence-only education?! Are you kidding me??? Yeah, let's go back to the 50's and tell all those 15-17 year olds that if they have pre-marital sex they will get pregnant and die. I'm sure that no matter how crazy their hormones get, they won't ever try to have sex. The old men said they can't so they won't and if they do... well, they'll just end up like bristol (the poster child for abstinence only sex-ed).
It's really amazing that in the year 2008 we have people who are so ignorant. Who have the nerve to make fun of someone advocating change while they're trying to bring us back a few decades.

Viagra will still be covered by insurance, but god forbid I try to get birth control.

There's a reason why countries in Asia and Europe are more advanced than the US. Because they don't try to shove religion and their PERSONAL morals down everybody's throat. Issues like stem cell research aren't a problem because they're smart enough to realize that this little ball of cells is going to be thrown out anyway, let's try to do something useful with it.. and if they don't know that, then they don't care because it's not their problem.

This election is gonna be scary.

BUUUUULLLLLLLSHIT!

damn that abortion and separation of church and state is a bad idea.

I especially like this:
Title: "banning all abortion...even in the matter...threat to the life of a woman"
next: "Women deserve better than abortion....work with women considering abortion to enable and empower them to choose life.”

so you dont give abortions when the woman will die, and by this empowering her and allowing her to choose life? (notice it doesn't say woman's or baby's life)
