Bachmann accuses unions of ‘class warfare’ in fundraising appeal

In a Labor Day email titled “Big Labor Attack Squad,” U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann asked supporters to “level the playing field” with labor by donating to her campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.

In the email, Bachmann said unions have been falsely attacking her campaign ”as they grow fearful of our increasing momentum,” referring to a labor rally in Detroit that President Barack Obama spoke at over the weekend.

Bachmann rejected an earlier assertion by International Brotherhood of Teamsters President James P. Hoffa that she wanted to end Social Security. She referred to him as a “notorious union boss and Obama advisor.”

At the event with Obama, Hoffa earned the ire of Republicans when he criticized tea partiers as “anti-labor” and called Republican congressmen “sons of bitches.”

“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face, the war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they’ve got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner—it’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America.”

Bachmann blamed unions for job losses, using the example of the National Labor Relations Board’s ruling that Boeing’s South Carolina plant was built in retribution for legal labor actions by the company’s unionized Washington workers, a ruling that Bachmann called “un-American.”

“When they’re not on the attack on CNN, union bosses like Hoffa in Washington, DC, are getting big returns on their election day influence, yielding unprecedented power granted by Obama appointments to the National Labor Relations Board, and costing Americans countless jobs in the process.”

Bachmann said unions that are using terms like “anti-worker” are engaging in “class warfare.”

“Big labor policies enforced by unelected and unaccountable Obama bureaucrats cost Americans jobs, while boosting the professional and political prospects of union leaders like Jimmy Hoffa. As President, you can be sure that I will respect the right of Americans to work, and enact policies that promote prosperity and economic freedom, not membership in declining unions.”

Bachmann’s email repeatedly asked supporters to make “a contribution of $25, $50, $100, or any amount up to the legal limit.”

My worry about Mrs. Bachmann is that she is not an idiot, but a very sharp, but very dishonest politician. She has been less than forthcoming when talking about her true beliefs, money she has received from the national and state government, and her planned actions in regards to a large number of social and economic programs that help people and act as a safety net.

She has changed her story and publicly stated beliefs on so many topics so many times I find it difficult to know who she really is and what she really stands for. All I do know about her is that I will not vote for her in any primary or in any election.

A woman that can not get history right, can not get the future of our country right.

She seeks funding from a few of the wealthiest to “level the playing field” with “Labor” that is funded by and represents millions of American citizens?
Boeing is charged with engaging in unfair labor labor practices. It is the responsibility of the NLRB to bring violators up on charges. She doesn’t like laws being upheld?
She wants to abolish minimum wage allowing employers 2 for 1. Get everybody working yet without enough earnings to eat?
The only thing she says that I like is that she is proud to be from Iowa and does not agree with Minnesota values. I am a proud Minnesotan and we definitely have different values.
I love America, tell the truth, have friends of all monetary classes and am willing to work at fixing the economy. I know Iowans that hold the same values that I do.
Last week I had an enjoyable meeting with a Republican citizen who is fed up with the Tea Party Republican attack on Labor along with the middle class.
Over the weekend I met with MN citizens whose jobs are being outsourced to other countries. As a MN Congresswoman, why don’t we hear about this from her? I don’t personally know anyone that supports her. I know people all over the state and in her district. How did she get elected and in the run for President? Anybody?

Hoffa? Really? Last time I looked Hoffa was not in Washington; he was under a goal post in the Meadowlands or some such. Wadda maroon!

Go back to Iowa, Ms Shrill; you’ve outlived your welcome in Minnesota.

There is irony here in so far as her step brother Mike LaFave is in Labor. I guess her step-brother is a thug too.

It is always entertaining listening to this emotionally stunted 12-year-old yell about how everyone she hates, fears , or envies has cooties. She’s our very own Midwestern Evita Peron!
