Presidential candidate John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin, will hold a rally on Friday, Sept. 19, at the Key Air Hangar at the Anoka County-Blaine Airport in the Twin Cities’ northern suburb of Blaine.

McCain’s visit coincides with two polls released this weekend showing Minnesota a close race. A Star Tribune poll of likely voters showed the race tied at 45 percent each for McCain and Sen. Barack Obama, an increase for McCain since May. A SurveyUSA poll has the race unchanged from last month with 49 percent for Obama and 47 for McCain.

McCain and Palin were just in Minnesota for the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. Prior to that event, McCain visited Minneapolis in June for a fundraiser and invitation-only town hall meeting. He was greeted by protesters from the peace and labor communities.
