Rick Santorum talks sodomy laws on Bradlee Dean’s radio show
Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 6:00 am
Presidential candidate Rick Santorum appeared on controversial preacher Bradlee Dean’s radio show Saturday, stating his support for so-called “sodomy laws” and criticizing supporters of same-sex marriage rights.
“This is not about gay marriage, it is about changing what is right and wrong and fundamentally changing what people of faith can say and do in society,” Santorum said on Dean’s radio show. “The ultimate objective here is to drive faith out of the public square, to drive morality out of the laws of this country, to secularize our society with a different set of values.”
Santorum told Dean that opponents of same-sex marriage need to keep fighting.
“For us to say they are winning and we should quit, I can’t accept that. They are not winning, first of all,” Santorum said. “There’s been 32 votes in the country and [same-sex marriage] has lost every single time.”
Santorum said opponents of same-sex marriage rights are often characterized as “bigots.”
“The reason that people don’t talk about it like I do is that you are vilified by the mainstream media, by Hollywood, by the educational establishment, all of the levers of power,” Santorum said. “Even the conservative media when it comes to these issues are hesitant to talk about them, it’s not polite conversation.”
Santorum pointed to the landmark case, Lawrence v. Texas, where the U.S. Supreme Court overturned sodomy laws that were used to imprison gays and lesbians.
“And I stood up from the very beginning back in 2003 when the Supreme Court was going create a constitutional right to sodomy and said this is wrong we can’t do this,” Santorum said. ”And so I stood up when no one else did and got hammered for it. I stood up and I continue to stand up.”
Santorum added, “I do not believe that sexual orientation should be added to hate crimes, but let me be honest, I don’t believe in hate crimes, period.”
Santorum’s appearance on the Sons of Liberty marks the first time a current presidential candidate has shared the airwaves with Dean. Dean has hosted Rep. Michele Bachmann in recent years, both on the radio program and at ministry fundraisers – Ron Paul and Tim Pawlenty have also been interviewed on the program.
Dean courted controversy earlier this year when he gave the invocation before a session of the Minnesota House, a flap that cause House Speaker Kurt Zellers to apologize and reconvene the House with a prayer by the House chaplain.
Long an opponent of homosexuality, Dean has accused some gays and lesbians of targeting children and asserted that “[o]n average, [homosexuals] molest 117 people before they’re found out,” though Dean later blogged that he meant pedophiles. He has also frequently called for the enforcement of sodomy laws, which were once used to imprison gays and lesbians in the United States.
Immediately before Santorum appeared on the program, Dean went after Fox News for promoting the homosexual agenda.
“If Fox news is the lifeguard per se of this country as one of the only media outsources that tell the truth, I’m trying to figure out why just this last week they are pushing the same agenda that Obama is pursuing through the homosexual and abortion agenda,” Dean said, referring to an exchange between Santorum and Fox’s Chris Wallace over Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, which riled social conservatives.
Dean said it’s indicative of the liberal bias of the media.
“Did you know that 76 percent of those that write your papers in this country see nothing wrong with homosexuality?” Dean said. “Up until 1961 you could go to prison for 21 years in the state of Rhode Island. Up until 1973 it was considered a mental illness. Now they are throwing it on your kids in public schools if you’re letting them … Well, what’s interesting is that a lot of the reporters are now homosexuals.”

These two spend way too much time thinking about and talking about sex. I’m an lgbt person and I don’t spend nearly this much time talking about sex. I suppose though that if Santorum (google/bing him to learn more) wants to keep such a close eye on homosexual activity, he’d best make sure heterosexuals are only using the missionary position.
But, really, this country has bigger problems than what consenting adults do behind closed doors.

Rick Santorum is “One dead gay male hooker found in his motel room” away from the loony bin…….the man thinks about gays/ especially Gay Men and Gay sex…24/7, 365 days a yr……..he’s OBSESSED with it…no doubt he has a strategically hidden Gay porn stash he uses to “rub one out” to releive the pressure LOL Santorum’s Politcal carreer is OVER, maybe he can get a consultation job with NOM? ??? LOL ..at least til he’s caught with that dead hooker, or attempts to go after Dan Savage and go all (Dan White) on him.

Dean and Santorum need to crawl back under their rocks and give the gay thing a rest. No one of substance takes either of them seriously. They’re sad little men who are deluded in thinking they actually have any significance. I pity them both.

Rick Santorum just stated that he IS a bigot and is proud of it. Hence all that crap that he and NOM try to put out there about being vilified by the media as being a gay-hater just because he’s against gay marriage is patently false. He’s being vilified because he is a bigot and a gay-hater and in this country, given our constitution, that’s not okay.

I’ve finally decided to come clean on the Homosexual Agenda(TM). I’ve been sitting on the secret plan for quite some time now, largely due to the nondisclosure agreement the RAND Corporation made me sign about 50 years ago when they crafted this strategic homosexual takeover plan under my direction as Head of Research – Homosexual Agenda Takeover Division, Room 3C-2, second door down (not the first! -I keep telling Roger to fix that damn door sign and he doesn’t) in the South Wing of the underground complex.
1968: Seeing an unprecedented opportunity for social chaos, Illuminati, Communist, Mason, Liberal, Socialist, Fascist, Feminist, Secular Humanist and Subgenius subversives began pouring enormous sums of money into destroying American morality. They quickly agreed that if everyone could be turned into a homosexual, they could finally destroy this country for good.
1970: The final draft of the [Above Top Secret] Plan for Homosexual Takeover in America, called Project Stonewall, was created. Causing a great stir and optimism among supporters of the predicted AntiChrist, the plan was diabolically clever, and generally seen as the solution to the longstanding question of how to destroy America. No longer would liberal-fascist-socialist elites have to use the transparent communist tricks of raising the minimum wage or curtailing harmful environmental pollution by corporations. Just turn everyone gay, and we could start burning the American flag tomorrow.
1973: After years of research at Bell Laboratories, chemical TGA-Stonewall was created, otherwise known as the ‘gay juice.’ Taking a cue from hippies who suggested spiking public waters with LSD, we decided to spike water supplies with the gay juice. We first targeted psychologists with the American Psychological Association, who then dutifully did an about face and found homosexuality to be normal. We then started spiking water supplies in conservative religious communities. The intent was to create such a ‘They’re Everywhere!’ shock, that this would disable them for resistance to the Agenda. Sure enough, gospel minister after gospel minister was caught with his pants down and something else up in the presence of another undressed man, and the Agenda was making its long march through the institutions, mostly unobstructed.
And now, as they say, the rest is history. The Gay Agenda (there’s much I still haven’t divulged) is well underway; indeed, its work almost complete. America, instead of being the world’s shopping mall for Jesus, is now a lighthouse beacon for the AntiChrist.
And yes, his name is Barack Obama.

First of all, they might want to look up the word ‘sodomy’. It applies to heterosexual sex as well. So let’s start throwing straight couples in prison for having consensual sex too. No doubt, Rick would be fine with that. Why should other people get to have a better sex life than him? But the fact that these people want to control what other people do in the privacy of their own homes, should be enough of a warning to any rational person. They’ve appointed themselves the ‘morality police’. Which sounds like it came right out of the book, 1984.
Santorum said, “There’s been 32 votes in the country and [same-sex marriage] has lost every single time.” — That is a lie. No one voted for or against same-sex marriage. That was never on the ballot to begin with. This was straight people trying to make sure that gay citizens will never have the same civil rights that they have, by enshrining their Constitution with discrimination. This is the same tactic that was used to ban interracial marriage, 60 years ago. Except back then 70% of the public was against race mixing. Right now the country is split 50-50 on marriage equality. So what does that tell you? The Supreme Court overruled the “will of the people” back then, and there’s no reason they won’t do the same thing now. Enjoy your homophobia while it’s still popular, Rick. Your time’s running out.

Poor little Ricky….he’s such a victim of all those awful homosexuals. Why are people like Rick Santorum given so much air time. He’s a bigot just like Pat Buchanan is a bigot who was given air time today on NPR’s The Diane Rehm Show. (the whole second hour), to spew his hate and bigotry and racism. Odd, both of these screamers are Catholics, who support an organization that is really a threat to humanity, especially children.

We need to get the word out to religious communities that anti-gay people are twisting God’s words to condone their hate.
Homosexuality is not a sin. The Bible is constantly being taken out of context to support anti-gay views. Scholars who have studied the Bible in context of the times and in relation to other passages have shown those passages (Leviticus, Corinthians, Romans, etc) have nothing to do with homosexuality. These passages often cherry-picked while ignoring the rest of the Bible. The sins theses passages are referring to are idolatry, Greek temple sex worship, prostitution, pederasty with teen boys, and rape, not homosexuality or two loving consenting adults.

This is the perfect example of how anti-gay people change the bible’s words for their anti-gay agenda.
Corinthians 6:9-11
Let us examine that very closely.
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate [malakoi], nor homosexual offenders [arsenokoites], nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.
First of all, before we address this line, let us consider one thing. Supposedly taken from a 2000+ year old book, understand that the word “homosexual” was not coined until 1869 by Austrian-born novelist Karl-Maria Kertbeny. So how it happens to be included in a true reading of the particular biblical passage should make you ponder how accurate the interpretation actually is. So man changing the words of the Bible to conveniently spread hate?
Absolutely.

For those of you claiming homosexuality is a “lifestyle”, that is a false and ignorant statement. Homosexuality is not a choice. Just like you don’t choose the color of your skin, you cannot choose whom you are sexually attracted to. Virtually all major psychological and medical experts agree that sexual orientation is NOT a choice. Most gay people will tell you its not a choice. Common sense will tell you its not a choice. While science is relatively new to studying homosexuality, studies tend to indicate that its biological.

There is overwhelming scientific evidence that homosexuality is not a choice. Sexual orientation is generally a biological trait that is determined pre-natally, although there is no one certain thing that explains all of the cases. “Nurture” may have some effect, but for the most part it is biological.
And it should also be noted that:
“It is worth noting that many medical and scientific organizations do believe it is impossible to change a person’s sexual orientation and this is displayed in a statement by American Academy of Pediatrics, American Counseling Association, American Association of School Administrators, American Federation of Teachers, American Psychiatric Association, American Psychological Association, American School Health Association, Interfaith Alliance Foundation, National Association of School Psychologists, National Association of Social Workers, and National Education Association.”

The National Library of Medicine pubs confirm that sexual orientation is natural, biologically induced in the first trimester of pregnancy, morally neutral, immutable, neither contagious nor learned, bearing no relation to an individuals ability to form deep and lasting relationships, to parent children, to work or to contribute to society.
From the American Psychological Association: homosexuality is normal; homosexual relationships are normal.
The American Academy of Pediatrics, American Psychological Association and American Psychiatric Association have endorsed civil marriage for same-sex couples because marriage strengthens mental and physical health and longevity of couples, and provides greater legal and financial security for children, parents and seniors.
America’s premier child/mental health associations endorse marriage equality.

This was taken from another poster that shows why we need to legalize gay marriage. If you don’t feel for this person after reading it, you simply aren’t human.
“I am not sure what our President thinks of this dicission but coming from a poor family and knowing what discrimination is all about I would assume he would not care if “Gays” have equal rights. The whole reason why they are asking for rights to be considered married is from the same reason why I would be for it. My own life partner commited suicide in our home with a gun to his heart. After a 28 year union I was deprived to even go his funeral. We had two plots next to each other. But because we did not have a marriage cirtificate “(Legal Document)” of our union his mother had him cremated and his ashes taken back to Missouri where we came from. That is only one example how painful it is. His suicide tramatized me so much and her disregard for my feelings only added to my heartach. That happened on March 21 of 2007 and I still cannot type this without crying for the trauma I have to endure each day. Oh did I mention I am in an electric wheelchair for life? Yes I am and it is very diffacult to find another mate when you are 58 and in a wheelchair. “

WWTC snuck Dean back on the air during the State Fair and now he’s back on a weekend slot. He has a weekday show on a satellite or web network. A word to the wise daily Bradlee Dean would cause severe and permanent brain damage. You can find the link at Dean’s website to the daily show, if you’re brave enough.

People, especially older ones, cannot easily change delusional feeling or ideas that they have maintained throughout their lifetimes. I certainly hope the 58 y/o guy in the wheelchair can forgive his partner’s mother for her behaviour. She deserves some compassion for a lifetime wasted. True change will only happen as they die off and are replaced by their children who are growing up in much better informed times. As a kid I remember there was a time when Peeping Tom neighbors could call the cops and have their married hetero neighbors arrested for sodomy.
