Occupy Wall Street protesters said Bachmann's stances "capitalize on dividing Americans" by claiming that people who disagree with her are "unpatriotic socialists."

During Michele Bachmann’s unveiling of her foreign policy plans in South Carolina, the presidential candidate was protested by Occupy Wall Street activists who held a “mic check” demonstration asserting that Bachmann’s rhetoric divides people.

The group of about two dozen protesters chanted in unison, “This will only take a minute… You capitalize on dividing Americans… claiming people that disagree with you… are unpatriotic socialists… and you promote discrimination.”

The Occupy movement has used the mic check to amplify a message in crowded situations.

As Republicans in the crowd shouted down the protesters, a police officer escorted Bachmann offstage for a brief moment.

Here’s video of the protest:

Hours later, Bachmann’s campaign manager, Keith Nahigian, sent an email to supporters that pivoted the flap into a spiel on Veteran’s Day:

In the last hour while Michele was giving a foreign policy speech aboard the USS Yorktown in South Carolina; she was interrupted by protestors from the “Occupy Wall Street” movement. While they did all that they could to interrupt her speech, Michele returned to the stage to continue her remarks, and she praised the 1st Amendment of the Constitution which guarantees the rights of the protestors to speak.

Regardless of political creed, our nation’s military men and women defend the right of every American to enjoy the incredible liberties our Constitution provides. I hope these protestors, while aboard the USS Yorktown on the 236th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, and on the eve of Veteran’s Day took a moment to thank our troops who so bravely fight for our first amendment rights.

This shows the violent and totalitarian core at the heart of the radical Left, which talks about free speech but insists on silencing those with whom they disagree: “Free speech for me, but not for thee.”
These OWS nihilist hooligans have taken their cue from Princess Pelosi and Hussein Obama, both of whom have praised them. Bachmann has been the most courageous and honorable among in the political class for labeling the OWS crowd for what it is: an organized mob of Communists and other radicals who want something for nothing.

Derek, why do you think your simple-minded name calling would convince anyone of anything?

Derek.

I disagree with you. Wall Street and many of our leaders want something for nothing, not the majority of OWS. I support a movement that essentially wants people who live in the same country to play by the same rules. It’s, in fact, the opposite of what you are implying with your hateful name-calling.

Derek,
You have anger issues and an abusive personality.

Bachman is big government just like Bush was. Wanting to control womans reproductive rights. Government controlling who can marry. Mandatory ids to fix a .004% problem. Part of a death panel to take away my 75 year old moms medical care so she can die with out costing to much. Big government breaking up unions and collective bargaining rights,

Bachman is for a big contolling government. Not to mention a dead pan speaker. Brings tears to my eyes trying to stay awake.

“This shows the violent and totalitarian core at the heart of the radical Left, which talks about free speech but insists on silencing those with whom they disagree: “Free speech for me, but not for thee.””

I find this particular sentence to be hypocritical considering that Michelle Bachmann has had her voice heard throughout the media specifically within the echo chamber of the Rupert Murdoch owned Fox News organization to an audience of millions.

On the other hand the Occupy protesters represent a large collective within the US population, making up a definitive majority of the American people by at least according to a recent CBS poll, 58 %, who have been by and large ignored and ridiculed as Socialists, and Unpatriotic by many people in the media, including Bachmann herself.

….considering the fact that this nutcase didn’t even know where the Revolutionary War started, it is disingenuous for her to call someone else “ignorant” !

America USED to work. The people had work. The system worked. Hey, EVEN the Congress used to work (sometimes). God knows, it was far, far, far from perfect -but at least we all had some share in the struggles AND the rewards. But somewhere along the way, we lost our way. Because now we have an economy and a political system that seems to work only for the rich. What they call “trickle down economics”….leaves most of us out in the cold cold rain. We need to get back to what America was, and what it should be, and what it can be. Occupy Wall Street is no longer just a place called Zuccotti Park – Zuccotti Park is everywhere. You can beat us and arrest us and tear-gas us, you can try to “permit” us to death….but you can’t kill an idea. You can’t keep down a people’s hopes and dreams for a better life…..a life with dignity and freedom….for us, and for our kids. More power to Occupy Wall Street, as it spreads to every town and city – because OWS is us, and for us, and by us. It comes up from the grassroots, and it lifts us up in turn. With OWS America has found it’s voice, and that voice demands fairness and justice -for ALL. This land IS our land! AND WE WANT IT BACK! We want our LIVES back! We want our FUTURE back! But it’s more than just words…. it’s more than just politics…. it’s your LIFE, and how you want to live it. So why not take some time, find a quiet place somewhere, and consider this: Each of us has only one brief life….one chance….one roll of the dice….and many choices. It’s time to choose….to risk…and to act. If not now…then when? If not you, then….who? You DO have the power my friend….and the choice is yours. Don’t let your dreams die.

they should have just kept quiet and let bachman stick her foot in her own mouth she always does any ways
but good for them that they did it because if you have ever been to a bachman town hall meeting she doesn’t let anyone speak
believe me i have tried i am a sixth district voter who was a republican supporter till bachman came along and screwed it all up for our district

I seem to remember Tea Party members shouting down their political opponents a couple of years ago. Fact is it is pretty well documented.
