Stump video: Palin, in Iowa, makes promises on behalf of ‘a Palin and McCain administration’

Today in Cedar Rapids, Sarah Palin pledged, and I quote: “Our family knows that the way to help small business is to take less from them, and leave more for them, so they can expand and jobs can be created. That’s exactly what we’re going to do in a Palin and McCain administration!”

This is hardly earth-shattering, but it’s certainly unusual for a veep candidate to give him/herself top billing in reference to the ticket. You can queue up another line of jokes about Palin’s ego in the lib blogosphere. And maybe that’s so. But has anyone considered that perhaps the McCain campaign’s handlers have encouraged Palin to give herself top billing from time to time? There’s no question that she’s the more popular member of the ticket at this point, especially in the GOP’s vital religious base.

Sarah Palin: Whose ticket is it, anyhow? (:22)

It has been suggested by many “political insiders” that Palin is, indeed, being groomed as the supporter/mouthpiece for the Neocons, religious right, and Cheney-Bush acolytes–that McCain will be the front-man just as Bush has been for the Cheney Administration; and, Palin will be the front-woman for those behind the scenes who will be controlling the entire presidency. While many within the electorate believe she is “unfit for the job,” that doesn’t matter. She and her experience are irrelevant. So long as she puts up a good front, Palin will ‘heappily” destroy what’s left of our democracy. So, her supposed misstatement is, in fact, a Freudian slip and she is giving truth to the suggestion of the many “political insiders.”
