Most of the Founding Fathers From what I understand many of our founding fathers were Diests. To name a few:
Ethan Allen
Benjamin Franklin
Thomas Jefferson
James Madison
Thomas Paine
George Washington
Also:

In the Declaration of Independence Jefferson’s appeal was to the God of the Deist, “Nature’s God,” not specifically to the God of Christianity (see letter dated Sep. 14, 1813, to Jefferson from John Adams equating “Nature’s God” with “the revelation from nature”). http://www.sullivan-county.com/id3/jefferson_deist.htm
Our country was NOT founded as a Christian nation. Read more here: http://www.sullivan-county.com/id3/jefferson_deist.htm
