The latest poll from Rasmussen Reports shows Barack Obama with an eight-point lead over John McCain in Minnesota. Obama attracted support from 52 percent of those surveyed, while McCain was backed by 44 percent of likely voters. Last month Ramussen showed Obama with a four-point edge, while in July he registered a 12-point margin over McCain. The Illinois Senator is viewed favorably by 64 percent of Minnesotans, according to Rasmussen, while his Republican counterpart received favorable marks from 52 percent of those surveyed. Democratic running mate Joe Biden earned a favorable assessment from 55 percent of respondents, compared to 47 percent for Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin. The poll surveyed 500 likely voters.
