Franken says repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act won’t make straight people gay, but that DOMA will continue to harm LGBT couples if it isn’t repealed.

Sen. Al Franken said many Republicans want to change the internet so that large corporations can increase their profit margins at the expense of small businesses and consumers.

The letter was signed by 86 members of the U.S. House and condemned the Department of Defense’s decision to allow same-sex couples to use federal facilities for marriage or commitment ceremonies.

Franken said the rule change could “disproportionately affect” agricultural producers “without necessarily improving student nutrition,” according to a press release.

Under current FEC rules, a traditional PAC is allowed to have a separate segregated account for unlimited contributions if the funds are spent on independent expenditures — making it a so-called hybrid committee.

Hernandez called for term limits, an amendment to the U.S. Constitution mandating Congress pass a budget, a repeal of health care reform, an end to “unconstitutional wars” and tax reform.

The attempt to head off deeper cuts is drawing concern from farm bill critics, who say the process could benefit from more voices.

Franken spoke of several recent suicides of LGBT students around the country, including Justin Aaberg who attended the Anoka-Hennepin School District.
