The stars indicate that on or about June 14, a decision by the Minnesota Supreme Court will make Al Franken a U.S. Senator. That’s the view of astrology blogger Terry Lamb, who cautions that “[i]f the senate seat remains in limbo past this time, the eclipses will come into play.”

Lamb says she asked Franken for the time of his birth, using it to work up his astrological chart. The planet Mercury’s movements relative to the Sun and Mars suggest a slow ascent to the Senate for Franken, with June 14 the most likely date for a favorable court ruling.

But should that date slip by without good news for Franken, the outcome of his struggle with former Sen. Norm Coleman could depend on three summer eclipses:

A Lunar Eclipse on July 7 picks up Franken’s Venus/Neptune square, plus Coleman’s Mars/Neptune square, with equal intensity. The Solar Eclipse on July 21 triggers neither chart, but a rare second Lunar Eclipse on August 5 falls near enough to Al Franken’s MC/IC to suggest that he is likely to take or be in office at this time.
