A lawsuit filed against Secretary of State Mark Ritchie by the conservative Minnesota Majority and a handful of Republican lawmakers and activists was dismissed by the Minnesota Supreme Court on Thursday. The suit alleged that Ritchie did not keep voter rolls updated during the 2008 elections.

Al Franken’s election certificate was signed by Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Secretary of State Mark Ritchie early Tuesday evening, only hours after the state’s high court turned down Norm Coleman’s appeal of Franken’s win.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s announced plans to axe state refunds for political contributions of $50 or less has set off an email stampede as candidates urge donors to give before the program dies July 1.

As part of his unallotment budget cuts, Gov. Pawlenty vowed to end the program that offers citizens a refund on a $50 donation to a political campaign. “I think it’s time for (Norm Coleman) to give up this fight,” writes conservative pundit and National Review senior editor Ramesh Ponnuru after Al Franken widened his lead to 312 votes in a Minnesota courtroom Tuesday.
