Wisconsin’s Doyle joins Summer of Guvs dropping out
This summer, it seems whenever you turn on the TV or tune in a radio newscast, another prominent pol has dropped out of contention for re-election. Republican governors especially have been dropping like flies: first Minnesota’s Tim Pawlenty, then Alaska’s Sarah Palin, and last week (officially and inevitably), South Carolina’s Mark Sanford. Now a Democrat [...]
Pawlenty to Jenny Sanford: Stand by your man… not!
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty said on CNN Sunday he’s “glad” Jenny Sanford didn’t stand by last week as her husband, South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, confessed before cameras to intercontinental philandering. John Ensign, who also fessed up to marital infidelity — “creates more oxygen” (in one wag’s words) for a 2012 presidential run by Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who rarely fails to mention how “hot” his wife is.
Tea party: Where were Minnesota’s elected officials?
Across the country, Republican politicians glommed onto yesterday’s Tax Day Tea Party movement — much to the consternation of grassroots organizers. But in Minnesota, only one elected official put her name on the events: Rep. Michele Bachmann.
2012 madness: T-Paw upset by S.C. senator
Gov. Tim Pawlenty has crapped out of the elite eight in National Public Radio’s contest to see who will head the Republican ticket in 2012. After surviving a tough battle against former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, T-Paw got blindsided by South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint. The eighth seed had already shocked former Arkansas Gov. Mike [...]
