Win or Lose, Rowley Upbeat

Democrat Coleen Rowley is positive and upbeat about her campaign as voters go to the polls on election day.

“We won this intersection,” Rowley said cheerfully, holding an enormous “Rowley For Congress” banner at the intersection of County Road 42 and Cedar Avenue in Apple Valley.  “I think this could work,” she said, “even if it [...]

Second District Roundup

Editor’s Note: This space will contain live coverage from the Coleen Rowley (DFL) campaign and other news from the 2nd CD, and will be updated throughout the day.
It’s pretty clear this will not be Rowley’s night; she appears set to fall by double digits. That’s not altogether surprising, as the second is hostile territory [...]

GOP Dirty Tricks in MN 2?

Voters expressing support for Democratic candidate Coleen Rowley have been receiving calls giving inaccurate and misleading information, according to the Rowley campaign.  Rowley’s camp alleges that the calls are being made to help incumbent Rep. John Kline (R-MN02).

The calls apparently originate from a cellular phone number in Manhattan.  The caller allegedly asks voters if they [...]

A Closer Look at MN 2

John Kline has been reasonably safe in this largely conservative district since beating Bill Luther in 2002.  But the Democrats have had an intriguing challenger in former FBI agent and 9/11 whistleblower [...]

Talking Torture with John Kline’s Mail Slot

Blogger Lakeville Dad joined a small protest today outside of Second District Republican Congressman John Kline’s local congressional office.  The protest was a reponse for Kline’s co-sponsorship of the “Bush-backed detainee bill.”

Rather than being poorly received, it appears the protest wasn’t received at all.

Murtha Endorses Coleen Rowley

Rep. Jack Murtha (D-PA12) today endorsed Coleen Rowley in her challenge to incumbent Rep. John Kline (R-MN02).
