John McCain and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin loved them anyway. The Minnesota Independent interviewed people inside the airplane hangar as the rally kicked off, then caught more on their way out — some who left early, plenty who streamed out after Palin was done, and finally the straight-talk-loving stalwarts who stayed through the end.

Clearly, one disadvantage of holding political rallies in airplane hangars is acoustics are like … well, like an airplane hangar. (One advantage: in an airport building, the work of screening people entering your political rally is performed by uniformed federal Transportation Security Administration workers.)
