Survey USA-KSTP poll: U.S. Senate election, if held today, still deadlocked

One scenario in the Minnesota Senate recount has the U.S. Senate ordering a new election to help them decide whether to seat Democrat Al Franken or Republican incumbent Norm Coleman. Another scenario leaves the decision to voters in a new election to be held late next year after the vacancy is temporarily filled by an appointee of Gov. Tim Pawlenty. But a re-run of the Nov. 4 election wouldn’t be any more conclusive than the original was, according to a new poll that Survey USA conducted for KSTP-TV.

Survey USA poll: Tinklenberg leads Bachmann by 3 points in 6th CD

Democrat Elwyn Tinklenberg leads U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R.-Minn.) 47 percent to 44 percent in a new poll of 621 likely voters in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District that Survey USA conducted Oct. 21–22 for KSTP-TV. The poll shows that 6 percent of respondents favored Independence Party candidate Bob Anderson and 2 percent were undecided. The poll has margin of [...]

DCCC Poll: Bachmann’s lead in the Sixth is down to four points over Tinklenberg

Poll numbers released by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on Thursday show Rep. Michele Bachmann leading Elwyn Tinklenberg by 4 points. Bachmann garnered the support of 42 percent of those polled while Tinklenberg had 38 percent. The poll says Bachmann’s approval rating in the 6th Congressional is at 34 percent.

Do-si-do? Madia leads Paulsen by 46-43 percent in new KSTP/SurveyUSA poll

In what pollsters are calling a “do-si-do,” results of the latest survey in the high-profile race for Minnesota’s 3rd district congressional seat show DFLer Ashwin Madia holding a slight 46-43 percent lead over Republican state Rep. Erik Paulsen — a three-point spread that’s within the poll’s 4-percent margin of error. SurveyUSA conducted the poll of 634 likely voters for KSTP on Oct. 6–7.

Dem poll puts Madia up by five in 3rd Congressional District

DFLer Ashwin Madia holds a five-point lead over Republican state Rep. Erik Paulsen in Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District race, according to results of a new poll released Monday by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). It’s a sizable swing from Paulsen’s three-point lead in an independent poll six weeks ago. But as in that survey, the difference in Monday’s results between the leading candidates — Madia with 44 percent to Paulsen’s 39 — is within the poll’s percent margin of error. More after the jump, including a Republican ad retreat; courting business; and dueling national endorsements.

VP or not VP: T-Paw stays below radar in new poll

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll asked people leaning Republican who they’d like John McCain to choose as his vice presidential running-mate. The results of the national survey show Gov. Tim Pawlenty with an asterisk, in a nine-way tie for ninth place.

Insider handicappers often rank Pawlenty and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist at the top of [...]
