A new Republican web ad, titled “60,” again recycles footage of Al Franken gesticulating wildly — in imitation of the late U.S. Sen. Paul Wellstone cheering his son’s cross-country race. This time it’s accompanied by mournful music, because after Sen.-elect Franken’s swearing-in today, Democratic votes in the U.S. Senate reach the dreaded number 60.

Franken unveils web ad to highlight wrongly rejected absentee ballots
The Al Franken for Senate campaign unveiled a new web ad today entitled “My Vote” that highlights the stories of Minnesota voters who say their absentee ballots were wrongly rejected. A companion Web site, CountMyVote, is designed to collect voter testimonials and comments on the vote count and recount in the Minnesota Senate election.
